Anybody ever use it? If so...how did you like it, any hangups or pitfalls?  There's times I don't feel like putting a meal together for just myself so pull out a frozen dinner...they're a lot better than the old TV dinners of years ago but still!!!  I was looking at their website and some of the recipes look pretty good and don't involve a lot of prep so thinking about giving it a shot for a few weeks but wondered if any members here had used them. Comes all boxed and shipped direct to your door, ready for the fridge.

We used them for a while. I think we got a box with three meals for
two people each week. It was all good stuff, including directions. We
were tied down to planning to be there and make all that fresh stuff.

The recipes would have you do stuff like sear the meat. Carolyn cooked,
and I waved the broom at the smoke alarm...

I have very good friends that use and love it!
They order dinner that is large enough that left overs are good to go for lunch at work the next day. Simple and easy for them.

Been tempted to try it as well.

We tried it for a while. No complaints, shipping and packaging was good, all food we chose was received fresh and in good condition. Some of the sides were a little odd for my taste. Don't think there's no prep time putting meals together. I believe it's actually more time as you are preparing everything from scratch with good easy to follow instructions. No complaints/no rave notices used it for about 6 months.

my mom used 'meals on wheels' where it comes out of nearby bigger city and they have volunteers in my mom's close by town to deliver.  Was well worth it until she kept forgetting to EAT and had about 40 prepared frozen meals in her freezer that I found having to take her outta her house soon after.

Most of the meals were basic and REAL food I helped eat a few of hers and liked nearly almost all of them except like said a few side entrees let sit did not like.  Well worth the 2-3 bucks per meal delivered to help keep her in her home longer for a few months.   Am sure this fresh meal service you speak of would be similar but probably pricier.

I say give it a try if no contract you have to sign up for and can cancel at anytime if not liked for whatever reason.

Not sure where you live but going to the grocery stores in nearby bigger town is a pain to do every single time we go there is something ON SALE we want that week in the ad and is sold out or not delivered to the store in the first place or is in back not stocked on shelf yet since short of workers having to ask an employee there if can ever find one.

This one store has no delivery but pickup service and see 2-3 employees there usually picking orders for people that come drive up to the store and they load their groceries in back for them.  It is VERY popular right now most bigger grocery stores are doing that now.  My kid works part time at Aldi's doing pretty much everything (checker, picking orders, stocking shelves, tossing out expired products, etc.) and he actually likes picking orders the best much better than being a checker dealing with customers.

We used them for several months.  Food came in good condition even in our summer heat.   Lots of cold warp.  Easy to follow directions for preparing the meals.  One can vary the meal to your taste like any good "cook".

There are lots of selections and choices for the meal.  You do have a couple of days after receiving the boxes to use the contents.

I've heard of ordering pizzas.  (though the cost is up and quality down)

I had the best Cantonese Chinese food I ever ate anywhere (in or out of a restaurant) delivered to my house for many years.  One day last year, they just abandoned their restaurant and fled the jurisdiction.  I can't be sure, but bet it was over state tax revenuer greed.  The next two I tried delivered slop, so no more for me.  I love good Chinese (and could usually make 3 meals out of each order).

My new neighbors across the street have food delivered all the time.  Between them, they probably go 500lbs (not that there's anything wrong with that).  I don't know what company, it's just a guy in his car and plain paper bags.

For the permanent bachelor, I'm a great short order cook for one man meals (and shop accordingly).  And when I don't want to cook, there's Stouffers and other microwave instant food and stuff in cans.  You have to pick and choose and experiment, some is terrible, some is just edible, and some is actually pretty good. Some can be doctored up a little to improve it.  The trick is to wait until you're real hungry.   Grin

Another trick I've lately learned is that a small/medium toaster oven is easier and more efficient (if not more expensive in electric) for bachelor meals than my full size gas oven (though I still use the broiler in that for red meat, as it's faster and does a better job).  I don't have one of those fancy air fryer convection deals, just a reguar toaster oven  (and that takes some practice to learn the tricks of the trade on temps and timing).  It's esp good in summer for not heating up the whole house (with the AC running).

All my life, I've viewed food as a necessary evil and eat to stave off hunger.  Never let it become a hobby or pastime or obsession.

MIL seems to be beyond able to cook for herself any more, although she used to be a school cook (when they actually prepared and COOKED meals). He ex-husband usually takes her for brunch and supper, when he can't we try to get her to eat with us.

I usually do the "dangerous" cooking (grill / turkey fryer), but I have been known to pitch in as sous-chef to my wife (she is by far the better cook).  I wouldn't starve as a bachelor, but I wouldn't eat as well as I do when she is feeling like eating (has been a challenge with cancer treatments - one week she dropped 20-30 pounds, because she couldn't keep more than 200-400 calories / day down - if that much).

And one of MY favorite statements about food and eating - "I'm in shape - round is a shape "  Cool  cooldude

All fresh raw food. The instructions never said to use the microwave, but
after it comes to your house ...  coolsmiley

agree, dealing with customers suck some nice,  some very bad.  He also liked pitching expired products in the dumpster like eggs and milk, has fun doing that.

as far as meals frozen or fresh,  meals on wheels was either one you can get, but they came HOT ready to eat around noon delivered to my mom and also one frozen as well if wanted both.  Were real food though like home cooked and not too processed of food.

Meals On Wheels is a blessing. But the ones they sent to my
homebound Aunt were like institutional meals compared to
the "cuisine grade" food they send from Hello Fresh...
