thanks for the info,  will check it out seems like quite the adventure.  Probably need more of an on/off road adventure bike though not sure I can sling mud with an 800lb Valk much.   Be more along my lines of taking those trips on an ATV if could find more 'on' road ATV tires like they use out in Colorado/South Dakota driving on pavement a lot more so.  If I take my normal ATV off road tires on pavement even for like 10 -15 miles,  I swear the rear tires wear down some can see it go down after every concrete/blacktop trip not made for hard pavement for sure.    Now that my rear off road stock ATV tires are needing replacement quite yet,  probably be good idea to keep them if ever go 'on' roading much since although still knobby, pretty worn down in the middle 3/4's gone.

Watched all four episodes, interesting.  Some of the road looked very difficult. I thought my ride from Florida to Alaska was difficult at times. Not even close to what these guys did. Reminded me of Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman's trip titled Long Way Round. I have it on DVD somewhere, but I believe I loaned it to someone.

saw 2 of the 4 episodes so far.  beginning was nice scenery, the middle pretty boring, and the end of 2nd episode when they went into CHINA and Pakistan was interesting, very scenic and very hard to get into China apparently.

Was sorta funny when 1 of the 2 guys said entering Pakistan he was wondering if they were  TALIBAN....
sorta hard to tell....

For some of those run down towns,  makes us glad we live in America for sure.  Not too many places in the USA are that bad of shape.

NO way you would see me going where they were going with 1200cc Yamaha super tenure cycles.  One would think they would be stolen overnight for sure.  Plus,  I would be afraid of being beaten up or shot.

I haven't seen the riders wearing gloves unless it's raining or cold even though one of them has fallen quite a few times.

For those who are following him,  Erik Peters is now with 2 others traveling in Norway/Finland, etc. onto their way I think to the North Pole on what appears to be 650cc adventure bikes (I think?) with studded tires in -15 below fahrenheit temps in feet of snow.  NUTS!    I guess there cycles would not fire up one day totally frozen had to bring inside with a heater on them to thaw out.

Would love to see that on Amazon next for sure.  I guess you can follow his adventure in the below zero temps thru Instagram / Erik Peters.
