Our illustrious former VRCC president is in the hospital with COVID and not doing great.  Has bilateral pneumonia.  Here's his daughter's post from FB:

Calling all my prayer warriors. My dad has been in the hospital for 10 days with Covid and bi-lateral pneumonia. We could really use some prayers and positive motivation to help him strengthen up, get better and come home to us. He’s not allowed visitors so we FaceTime at least once a day when he has the energy to do so.
Dad, you keep rotating around in that bed and keep doing your breathing treatments so we can get you off all that oxygen and get breathing on your own.
We love you and can’t wait to hug you tight at Home!
Thank you from our family!

2/5/22 Update from Sarah (oZ's daughter):
Latest update. Dad needed to be intubated. My mom, brother and I were given enough notice so we could go in and actually be with him for a while. (We were all about an hour away) When we arrived and got to spend time with him, He relaxed and his numbers got a little better. He communicated as best as he could with the Bipap mask on and we even joked a little. It was great to hold his hand and have him squeeze it to the point where I said “you’re gonna break my finger”. He has strength in his body, but his lungs are tired.
We ask as a family for continued prayers as he’s made it 14 days so far and those prayers and his fight has won so far.
It will be harder on us now that we won’t have text or FaceTime to try to communicate, but we pray God holds him and allows him to come home to us.
I personally want to thank everyone who has prayed, reached out here, texted or emailed. You have been our saving grace when we need faith and guidance.
Please continue to do whatever you’re doing and bring Dad home to us.
All our love and thanks.... ♥️

2/7/22 1940:
Newest update as of today on dad. Mom asked me to share as we are both getting inundated with messages. We would love to be able to reach out to everyone each day but can’t call/text everyone when we get updates.
This was around 4:45pm
Dr Sehti said he just visited with Dad and things are going good. Just for verification Dad is fully sedated right now and comfortable. They are putting him in the proning position for several hours a day to help his lungs. We are now just watching the required oxygen levels to keep his saturation high. He is currently at 70 to 80% required and they need to get him down into the 30 to 50% range. They make no fast changes during this time. they will continue to monitor him and as his saturation rises they will lower the input oxygen to verify his body responds well. They will continue in this fashion until they get to 50% at which point they will reduce the sedation and see if they can get him starting to breathe on his own.
We thank you all for your love, prayers and support. You all are awesome.

Update 2/10/22:
Not much news.  I hadn't heard anything new, so I asked Sarah....
Connie, I will update again soon. But he is doing pretty good and once they remove the COVID off his chart mom can visit him once a day for an hour.
We are working on getting that removed so she can see him daily.

Update 2/11/22 (Sarah):
We got the COVID removed from his chart, but his roommates chart says Covid so mom cant go in. Working to get dad out of that room.

Update 2/12/22 (actually from evening of 2/11/22):
He is not out of the woods, but doctors say he is doing well.  They had to start dialysis.  The hospital is allowing 1 visitor per day.  His wife sat with him Friday, held his hand, and prayed.
