I was riding a few days ago and it was low 40s I noticed when I put my turn signal on there was a delay before it started working. Would an electronic flasher unit take care of this problem? I wonted to install the Jersey Signal Boss but it is my understanding he is not doing them anymore. If anyone might happen to have one they do not need I would like to have it as I ride in escorts for veterans funerals.

There is old grease in the switch that will thicken up when cold. You can take it apart, clean it, I use a real THIN coat of waterproof grease and should be good for another 20 years.

+ one on the old grease comment. I Use a dielectric grease (light coat) and it will work fine for years.

Agreed, you should take the left clamshell apart and shoot down the internal parts with electronic spray. Doesn't take long, 20 min max. You don't have to go to a computer store nowadays for electronic spray. Cheaper at Lowes, Home Depot. Even Walmart might sell them. To get the general idea, Youtube video here. Note: the author neglects to completely remove the movable contacts and only dabs on dielectric grease.

The reason for taking the left clamshell apart is the movable contacts can get quite encrusted. There's tiny coil springs under the contacts. Make sure to clean out the slots for the legs of the contacts too (right pic).

To get to the movable contacts, remove the thumb lever mounting plate. It's not absolutely necessary to unscrew the thumb lever from its mounting plate but some people do.

Then pluck out Holder B from it's notch and separate the stationary contact plate from the movable contact cube.

I have a new Jersey Signal Boss, never installed as it's incompatible with my signal mods.  See the PM I sent.
