Is time to replace my tires again(I ride a lot) and after reading about how it will either A. Kill Me or B. Hook me forever I have decided to give the Darkside a try, if I hate it then at least I'll know. I have been looking at two tires in particular The Yokohama Avid Envigor and The CROSSCLIMATE2 both in 205/60 and would like to know what you guys think about these tires, I know each have been used quite a lot it seems and wonder which one is better to start off with.
I also need a new front tire and was thinking about running a rear MC tire on front and was wondering if a 150/70 MC Tire would work well with the 205/60 rear CT?
Not sure if its relevant but I am a large man at 6'5 and 450lbs, and my wife is not dainty either and we often ride 2up on country backroads.
  Thanks for any info  Smiley

I have the Yokohama Avid Envigor on my 98 Tourer. I have put 2k on it. I have been Dark Sider on 4 bikes. 98 Standard, 12 Wing, 13 F6 and the new to me 98  Tourer. It handles well and seems very good in the rain. I'm in Florida and have been caught multiple times. Can't speak about how long it will last.

I have 2 bikes darkside.  On my Valk I run a Comtrec and on my Shadow Tourer it's a Zeetex.  Both are 175's.  I much prefer the Zeetex, and frankly, can't say enough good about it.  Great traction in wet and dry, excellent ride and looks good too.  It's a small truck tire and will be my go to on my other2 bikes when time comes.  I run Shinko tires on the front, love 'em.  Getting about 15K average on those.  Moderately aggressive every now and then but mostly drive like an old guy.  (72)

I run Avid Envigor too.  Nice rounded edges and I can appreciate the extra rubber on the ground while riding in Ozarks.

I've had several different Darkside tires and now running the Yokohama avid envigor 205/60/16 , I really like it the best of all I've used. Great darkside tire for the mighty Valkyrie!

+1 on the Zeetex CT-1000.  It's just a great all around (no pun intended) tire.  Handles like a dream.  8 ply, dual sidewall.  I've written a couple reviews here about it.

I too have the Zeetex tire.  Got some 8K miles on it.  No apparent wear on it.  These 8K miles are on chip coated roads which tend to eat tires up.   At 41 lbs. the tire seemed to be a bit rough riding, but now don't notice it.  This is my 4th Darkside tire.  Like it the best.
