Kind of hard to believe….air bags, air ride shocks, ABS brakes, catalytic converters, cruise control, GPS navigation, all wheel drive, SIRIUS radio and amplified sound systems, heated and cooled bits, security alarms, TPMS, check engine lights and now power steering

On motorcycles

I’m old enough to remember when the only thing electrical was the sparklers and lights. People were nervous when electric starter bikes came out if there wasn’t a kick start as well

We’ve come a long way

That's one way to look at it.  Wink

I wish ATV's still had a kick start backup since when out 5-20 miles in the boonies, sorta hard to walk back to the vehicle or push 600lb. ATV thru the woods to nearest road when battery dies or electric starter fails.   My 2003 polaris 330cc 4wd magnum and 2000 arctic cat 500cc 4wd both were the last of my kick start backups with electric battery start prior to me going all electric start (NO kick start backup) 2008 Can Am outlander max 800cc 2-up ATV.

Dozens of times in the winter my old 2000 arctic cat battery push button start never fired over, had to use  the kickstarter often never failed me.

I could see power steering for the 2 wheels in front yamaha cycle or can am spyder, etc.  but not for only 1 wheel in front cycle.

Just another opportunity for a failure.  Do you really want this thing with a computer doing what it wants to do, when it wants to do it?  I've owned a Can Am Spyder.  They have electronic power steering.  Many owners experienced various issues with the power steering.  Mine failed due to a poor battery connection.  It would actually fight me when turning by trying to keep the bike going straight.  Way too much excitement for me.

Pretty much my train of thought also.   Being a former Marine, I use the KISS system.
