I'm guessing with all the Cobra fans here, someone has had (and maybe solved) this issue. Had my 99 Standard up on stands for 2 months bringing everything back to original glory. After I put everything back together and put her on the ground and went for first 6 mile checkout ride, I discover the side stand comes in contact with the lower Cobra pipe. I tried 2 large fender washers (probably 5/32-3/16 total) between frame and stand and it didn't help. Thought to possible try some JBWeld in a spot on the side stand stop (nearest spring) to stop travel. Any thoughts appreciated.

No Cobra pipe experience here.  But is it the side stand hitting, or the skinny bar you use to put it down?

The skinny bar can get hit/bent and move (now touching pipes).  Mine did.  I slid a pipe over it and gently bent it back to where it was supposed to be.

Good question Jess. It's the bottom base of the side stand that sits on ground, not the skinny bar.

Well, you're going to need advice from Cobra 6X owners.

The only other thing that comes to mind is a bent cross member underneath, that the side stand mounts to.

Jess is on the right track I think. I had Cobra pipes on my bike for years and the kickstand never hit. Something must be bent

Not Cobra but I have TBR  carbon fiber exhaust cans.  The side stand touched. I put high temp silicon on the bottom of the can where it hit.  Been on for 15 years no problem but the carbon fiber doesn't get that hot.

Is the kickstand leg itself bent?  They used to be available new parts (maybe still are), and not that expensive.

Thanks guys for ideas. I've had her lifted last 2 months and been up underneath to remove stand so I could get a lift under her for all the work, clean, etc. Pretty certain the fame is not bent, but will double check. After having stand off and re-installing, I can't tell that the stand itself is bent, but will double check that too. May try the spot of high temp as I have several and it would not be seen. Luckily I haven't heard it rattle, but only have about 16 miles on her after having her pretty much stripped to frame and engine. Today was a milestone after working on her for 2 months. I got her inspected and registered and adorned her with a new Texas plate! Helmet gets here this week. Next door neighbor has a 97 and hoping to put a few road miles on her soon!

Something amiss in the mount of the side-stand or the mufflers.  No interference issues with my Cobras.
