The Yooper Event 2022 is returning to Newberry, MI. July 29 - 30, 2022. Rooms won't last long, you can book now: Evening Star Motel Newberry, MI 906 293-8342 Say " GiG Up North" July 29 - 30, 2022. Rooms range from $62 to $84 depending. We have also reserved the other Motel on the same property, same PH #, same owner. There was a full house at Ground Zero last year, in spite of government sanctions. We spoke to the Motel owners, and there are only a few rooms remaining for our 2022 event. LuLu has a list of folks that asked for her to book a room, and she did. It might be a good idea to call the Motel and confirm your confirmations. When these rooms fill up, there are other Motels in this small town, so come join us. We have a new Tee Shirt supplier, gray or black. Short sleeve $20 / Long Sleeve $25. Zelle or VENMO funds to Theresa so she can pay the printer in advance. The rumors of food availability on-site are of LuLu's famous hoagie hero grinder submarines Or maybe sloppy joes. Side dishes (beans, po-sal, slaw, dessert, etc) welcome, not required. We are looking at " Pickles' for Saturday lunch. Nice place with a large deck on the lake with good food. not sure I will be able to make my 2nd yooper as I am riding out to Seattle after Inzane. But I may just ride thru the UP on my way back, just a month too early OSS, you really need to work on your timing, Buddy… |

We were there September 16th, 2019 on our trip to ride around the upper part of Lake Superior. Since we live very near Newberry, SC, we took an interest in the area. Nice and we had lunch there (don''t have pictures of that place but I think its across the street from the railway station. Would like to do it again sometime but cannot work in a trip this year.  |

Terry / Keith - glad you guys are returning, always a pleasure! Tell Keith not to go through the city this time, he can avoid a couple hundred red lights. Be sure to take the (west) 270 bypass around Columbus. On the northern edge of town, just west of 23, is a shortcut. Look for 315 north. It runs along the Scumbag River and rejoins 23 north of the city, missing a load of congestion in that area. 315 is a decent motorcycle road for about 20 miles there. |

I took a chance this morning and gave the Ground Zero hotel, The Evening Star a call. Much to my surprise there were a few rooms still available.
I reserved a room and will see everyone on Friday the 29th! I have never been to this part of Michigan. Looking forward to this event.
Hope my surgically replaced shoulder is ready for the ride by then.
I am in Kent, Ohio just southeast of Cleveland about 35 miles. If anyone is coming through Ohio or leaving from Ohio and would not mind a tag along rider, please let me know.
