2022 'vette..yep it's all that...great grand tourer....yes it is amazing.....great for the wife..well anybody....the speeds it has to attain to stress the car aren't a smart move on public roads ...my Valkyrie is the same in a different  2 wheel way...got a flyer in the mail about a track day on the new Z06....any one got any money to loan top pay off JP's,local constables,HI-PO's,LEO's,FUZZ..the Governor...the last time I had an interaction in new corvette was driving back from the Indy 500 as a first date with my future wife..I was accused of driving over 100mph coming back into Dallas...it was late and I retorted"NO WAY"...and somehow restrained  my next line that I was going a lot faster than that..and walked!!

congrats.  Hey, if  you got it, flaunt it I always say.

ONLY experience in a corvette was one in the 80s doing near 80 mph around a 30 mph corner in town me not driving but filling my drawers because I thought we were going to die that night.

Speed can kill ya know?

we rented  a 2013 convertible from Hertz in Vegas to drive to Zion and back

Had to make an advance reservation

at 120 mph the tach was around 2000

could not believe it

smooth as silk   The new one supposedly is so much better, maybe will rent one again one day

Think it was around 600 for the 2 days, less than it will cost to drive to Inzane and back

Figure it will probably be about 900 by the time I am done on gas going coast to coast and back

I like the square tail light vettes. Not sure I could get in or out of it though, getting too old and stiff.

yes it is a chore getting in and out but since I need the stretching exercise it's OK..it is surprising what 495 hp and an 8 speed tranny will do

Got a ride in one with a gal I dated for a short time prior to meeting my Rita. We went to the Gulf Coast for a day on the beach, dinner, then back to Orlando. Girl had a heavy foot...two thrills in one day was almost too much.  Wink

For those with evil minds...the first thrill was traveling west to the Clearwater area, the second was the return trip. I had to tease her a little, said it took longer to make the same trip in a rented C-150.  Grin

My one and only 1969 droptop needed a lot of work, and parts.

The first time the wife sat down into the seat, she laid her bare legs on the hot hooker header side pipes (wearing shorts).

Thereafter she hated my nasty car from hell.   tickedoff

The square headlights in this one sucked for light.  The stock flip lights were a bad design and often failed or froze shut, and turned out to be hugely expensive parts to acquire, so I left these aftermarkets as is on my restoration.  And it came with a 70' egg crate grills instead of the plane jane proper '69 grilles, so I left them in there too.

When I got out of service in CA, this went in a cargo ship out of San Pedro CA for West Germany.

No more for me.

PS:  The first Batman movie came out around this time and when I rumbled through base housing at the requisite 15mph, the little kids came out and chased me down the street..... It's the BatmobileGrin

What no picture?  Did you have to sell your camera?

Congratulations enjoy and get a bunch of fun out of it  cooldude

With the exception of the split window coupe I was never a vette guy but I did enjoy in 2001 watching Dale Earnhardt drive one in the Rolex 24 hours at Daytona.

agree is an ordeal getting in/out of the low vettes for sure, especially when even in early 20's when drunk....   Once in though is comfy even if way way too low to the ground for my tastes.

Congratulations Rocket!

The new 'vettes are a great looking car! The sound is not too shabby either. I'm not much of a car guy but these new 'vettes are gorgeous!

BTW, there are some on this forum that say "it's only a rumor without a pic".

last bit of trivia--it has a structure 54% stiffer than a Ferrari 458 and 29% stiffer  than a Mclaren MP4-120..so obviously this is track day stuff--my Valkyrie according to the  Attic Rat is one of the rarest as a Blue/white 2002 standard then add the Viking Header and his handiwork..so it is something I can use all it's performance with some regularity and attain some pretty good speed but not modern race car stuff but plenty enuf for a decent ring out on more desolate  areas cooldude
