Will be taking a trip to Arkansa and back and spending two nights in Harrison.   We have started the two day thing to allow us old folks some time to recover.

Anyway, I have a day trip planned, just wanted some comments on other options or observations on what I have planned.

Thanks.

412 to Yellville.  Yellville to Peel's Ferry.  125 to 160.  160 to 65 and back to Harrison.

Jasper is nice little town to see. There is a restaurant, on the town square, that has some pretty good food.  Of course, it has been a few years since I was last there. I think that anywhere in that circle will be good riding. Eureka Springs is nice, but it would take some time to walk around it and see it all. If you have never seen it, the Passion Play is good, although I think it is only shown in the afternoon-evening.

Thanks Mike.....  Will look at those items.

We have travled thorugh and around Arkansas a few times.  Always found it to be a nice place to ride.

Our first experence was on a group ride (four of us) in August 2006 headed to Oklahoma just because (and yes it was 108 degrees in the shade) .  On the way, for some reason, we went though Mena, AR and stopped at the Rich Mountain Country Store for lunch.  That was a treat and a fun visit.   We (wife and I) went again to the store in October 2018, just to see what it was like after 12 years.  It was about the same but..... we did not get to interact with the owner and who I thought was his wife that time.  Some pictures below.

The lady was a real outgoing person  Wink.

If you went through Mena, AR you must have experienced the Talimena Parkway.  That is a ride worth taking.   cooldude

You know Willow, back then it was the GPS and the route layed out.   Sort of picked some places that I/we wanted to see and thats how we got to Mena. But, and I am working on memory here cause I can't find the map, we drove by the store with it on your right as we passed sort of beside it.  That should have put us on the "Skyline Drive" and yes we were headed to Oklahoma (just because).  The name rings a bell and if we did it right we then ended up on Tailmen Scenic Dr.  I wanted to include some mountains in our trip to OK because you don't think of mountains and OK in the same thought (well at least I did not then).

So.... Lets see.  (Oh another thing that drove that trip was the song by Toby Keith - Honkytonk U.  I wanted to try and find the bar.... )

Didn't but we did get some views we did not expect.

We we got to see Todd Suck AR.   Which we had all heard about but.....

Here's a short clip of Scott trying hard not to run over me coming down off Push Mountain in Arkansas.

You may see that Scott cut a couple of clips out of the video to avoid publicizing violations of Arkansas traffic laws.

Hwy 123 around Jasper.  The Arkansas Dragon.  Ride it the whole way down to Lamar, AR. to Hwy 64.  Ride West On I-40 about 20 miles to Hwy 23 North.  The Pig Trail.  This Hwy takes you straight into Eureka Springs.  Best Loop in Arkansas.  Lots of awsome roads around Jasper/Harrison area, All the way over to Mountain Home/Mountain View area.  I reside in Van Buren, AR.  I"ve ridden all of these roads many times.  It's worth a week or two to come to this area and enjoy our twisties.  They never get old.  "Go Hogs".

Peace, Ron.

I thank you all for the information.   I almost have a route selected.

However, today I was looking at my trip and noted some of the towns nearby or along the way.  It sort of amazes me that these names are used.  Don't know why, but its sort of cool to be able to take a trip and travel through or near

Formosa
Jerusalem
Damascus
Ben Hur
Mount Vernon
Bethlehem
Gum Log
Prosperity
