For those of us who use our phones as music players while riding, I thought the other day "I bet something like this exists" searched, and lo! It does! Ordered one, it'll be here Friday. I'll update as to if it works and such once I've got my hands on it, but figured I'd put this out there, see if anyone else has one or experience with it. A battery powered Bluetooth remote control that connects to your phone and can be used to jump forward or back on tracks, volume up or down, as well as a pause button..... JUST what I've been looking for! I saw a few variations on the theme while looking but settled on this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081RG3NKC

I was looking at some older bluetooth devices/things I had the other day. And I was looking at getting a bluetooth tire pressure monitoring system.
Then I thought, how many discrete bluetooth devices can there actually be. I mean, if they are like RF signals they take frequency space and even if they use "encryption" there will be a limit it would seem.
Just some thoughts.
I have never experienced any issue with interference.

Then I thought, how many discrete bluetooth devices can there actually be.
A single host (I.E. your phone) can connect up to 7 discreet Bluetooth devices at once. (As of the 2016 Bluetooth 5.0 standard) My TPMS while I suspect is Bluetooth based, connects to a dedicated LCD display so that's out of the picture since it's not connecting to my phone. I have my SENA headset, my Bluetooth module that pipes into the GoldWing's stereo, and once this comes in I'll have a remote control, making for 3 Bluetooth devices at once, so plenty of room to grow should I need to. Edit to add - and if you're concerned about interference from too many BT devices in one area, even if they're not all connected to a single device, BT uses 79 different RF channels that when two devices connect they synchronize on a starting frequency then change frequencies around 1600 times a second. BT was designed with having a large number of devices working in a small area as part of the design criteria. SOME interference is expected and okay, but with the frequent frequency hopping to a human the loss is generally unnoticeable. (No, I didn't know this off the top of my head, but your query made me curious so I did some searching to find out. )

I still remember connecting two tin cans with a tight string. It didn't work as good as you'd think. And, if you have a blue tooth, you may need a root canal.

My brother and I use a bluetooth remote called "Chubby Buttons". Uses a keyless remote battery, good for a year under normal use. Water resistant and really large rubber buttons for use with gloves. However, the price is a bit off-putting. Around $80. Also, had a neighbor who can sew put some stainless steel thread stitches into the index finger tip of my gloves. This allows me to use my phone's touch screen if I need to pull up a weather app or navi. Combine all of this with our Sena comms (I imagine any BT comm would do) and you have a fully integrated, voice activated navi, phone, short range comm, and entertainment package.

Very nice, thanks for the tip! If the one I ordered doesn't QUITE work out I like the look of this one! https://www.amazon.com/Chubby-Buttons-Splash-Resistant-Smartphone-Snowboarders/dp/B07FBQ3PCFMy full fingered gloves have special tips on them already that make it SORT of work on my phone.... Sort of... But I generally wear fingerless gloves unless it's really cold, making that not as much of an issue...

My brother and I made a plate that attaches the remote right under our phone holder (tackform, very pricey but secure). The phone holder had a 1/4 20 mounting hole under it already for some reason.

Apple watch links to the I phone and does all of that and more. Can even see who is calling and answer with nose or Siri. Music no problem, take pictures remotely no problem, headsets, speakers, music no problem any choice, plus time, directions, voice and a haptic or vibration on wrist on turns, and much more.
Most time a twist of the wrist and you can see and determine what you want to do. Most any feature the Iphone has can be accessed through the watch, with the control of most other Bluetooth items. It will also link to your external speakers and be controlled by the phone or watch.
Glove are a bit of a problem but between Siri and ear pods solves most of them. The watch does respond to touches by gloves but sometimes with some gloves not as well. It was not a type O before I have used my nose to answer my watch or change music. Especially when my hands are full or working on something.
Its always on you and if anything happens you have a phone on your wrist. Regular Bluetooth ranges apply and you can have the phone in your bags and have good sound directions and even have noise cancellation while riding through the Air Pod Pro's. When out of range of your phone with the GPS and cell model, you still have headphones, phone, music if on watch, directions, compass, GPS, limited internet, heart rate, and ECG. If you are tired of having your phone on you in many cases you can use your watch and still have a phone on you plus many features including directions.
Android does have many of the same features in their watches also but am not entirely sure of the features.
There is an App for diagnosing your car and tire pressure available on the Iphone also and both are pretty good.
There is also a camera and app for night vision on your phone and its not bad at all. A bit glitchy but is portable and works well.
