Just pulled the carbs on the Valk a while ago. Lordy was it dirty under the tank!! Surprised me. First thing will be to clean up everything I can see and reach before diving into them. That way I can work on a clean platform and I like that!
May not even peek inside them today. Cooking ribs on the smoker in a little while and I do have priorities!!

cooldude Well it sounds like you have you priorities right.  Roll Eyes Cooking ribs feeds the body which gives the strength and endurance to work on the Valk.   cheers

So right now it looks like Me, U, Pappy? Any word from Jeff ? 4 would be ideal, especially for the hotels. crap is getting real expensive, Tank of fuel for the Valk went from $6/$7 to $16/$17
Hotels wont be cheap either.

I really wish I was able to do the Inzane ride. Family obligations have popped up and it's tough to be in two places at one time. Cry

New rear tire going on this week while I do the driveline service. Going from a 205 to a 195. The 205 was a super tight fit.
Lost the BonS Smart switch as well. No low beam. He used a proprietary dual relay system on a printed circuit board. Non serviceable when one of the relays fail. Looked at Eastern Beaver as a replacement or may just build my own.

That might be the 1st time I've heard of the smart switch failure , I guess since it's plug and play you can always go back to stock for a while.

Actually, I just had my low bean smart switch go bad about 4 moths ago.
So I did go back to stock for now

Eastern Beaver has a replacement that would take about 10 minutes to modify and install.
They are using 20A relays whereas BonS used 10A. EB uses Panasonic mini relays.
I looked at their price and since I already have the BonS main harness coming up through the bike and into the headlight shell all I would have to do is duplicate the relay harness wiring and splice in the H4 connectors. I already have everything here to do it and the relays should be here tomorrow.

I guess you've used up all the swear words by now, I'm not sure which ones I had once or on which bike it was but I filed down the middle of the bushing and then cut it in half and pressed them in with channel locks or a vise, some lube as well. Once in the bolt kept  them in place.  The center of the shock hole seems slightly tapered. Hope this helps you.

Seal finally came in..........
got it back together today. Quiet as a mouse mechanically and with the new drive dampers in there I definitely noticed how much tighter the driveline is. No slack!
Now I just need to do a good run somewhere to make sure everything is back to normal.

I installed polyurethane bushings in my 99 Tourer last fall. I used my Vice with sockets that were the appropriate size needed. NO LUBE. They slid right in. Took 10-15 minuted to change them out. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
