Today I got a set of "tongs" I ordered.  They were sort of expensive but you get what you pay for.

They assembled well and I will try them out tonight

Last night we used the Breeo and it worked well.  The stand (pictured again below)  really isolates the stove from the deck.  I know there is some thermodynamics involved but its hard to believe the difference between just raising the stove off the deck and put the stand under it a lower height.  There is basically no heat on the deck.

Anyway, pictured below, the stand (just for reference), the welders gloves I have had on hand for about 25 years (which I used last night, worked well) and the new tongs (they are about 36" long").

Haven't had a chance to use it yet (That will hopefully come Friday) but my Amistad stand came yesterday, got it setup. It's JUST adjustable enough that I was able to true up the firepit to offset the slant of the concrete patio and make it sit flat now.

I am still surprised as to how much cooler the underside is on the stand.

do you cook on it or just use as a firepit?

Not as fancy looking, but we bought several years ago a copper kettle on metal stand (bricks under all 3 legs) for like 40 bucks from Aldi's, and has lasted well over 10 years now for a firepit.

We cook on it almost every time we use it.... Steaks, kababs, chicken, hot dogs, sausage, corn, all kinds of yummy stuff!

We've got a mature pecan tree that sheds branches often so I just round up the fallen branches and toss the pecan wood on to smoke right before the food goes on...
