I took a ride this morning.   Rode about 175 miles out in the country.   Im cruising along really enjoying the country side scenery when suddenly I got an EXTREME pain in the middle of my belly.    A darn wasp had hit my chest and fell between my short sleeve shirt and my long sleeve outer shirt and stung the crap outa me right in the middle of my belly.   Hurt like crazy.   Crash stopped and pulled over to the shoulder of the road and shed my shirt. Found the little bugger and sent him over the rainbow with my finger and thumb.   Man that hurt.

Long time ago ridin with a friend bout Serk's size. He's lead and all of a sudden he's doing violent maneuvers. Finally pulls it over to the right shoulder lets the bike fall rips of the full face helmet and started smackin his head!  Grin W T H over? Put my K/S down and when he settles down-WHAT? A hornet had gotten into his lid and got near the top of his head and decided his head needed to be stung repeatedly!  2funny When I Finally quit laughing he had me look at his gourd. there were 5 or 6 stings on his head!  Evil And the stings wouldn't allow his helmet to go back on!  Roll Eyes Bumble bees hornets and wasps are tough and difficult to kill while under yer clothing!  crazy2 Been nailed by the little
sumb-tches a time or three myself!  Lips Sealed RIDE SAFE.

Been there. Done that.  More than once.

Why I always wear a zipped up mesh jacket when it's warm enough.

I'm gonna take your word on this, I don't need to have this experience to believe you.

I'm just not real sure how to avoid stinger strikes going down the road and protective gear such as suggested by others seems overkill.   At least until that first sting...............  Wink
