Took a ride from Massachusetts into Vermont on route 112N to route 100 N to have lunch at the Wahoo Eatery in Wilmington. Was a beautiful day and the lunch was good.  Wink

I decided to take route 9 east up over Hogback Mountain into into Brattleboro to then head back to MA. I quickly learned the route 9 is under construction from Hogback east all the way back to Brattleboro. There are multiple lane closures and a one section at least over a mile long with no pavement in either direction. At least the dirt was pretty well packed with some gravel mixed in. Some of the steep curvy sections required a little extra caution. It will be beautiful when it's repaved. But for now you may want to avoid it. The bike definitely needs a wash after this ride.   Cool

Thanks for the heads up. cooldude

I was up that way a couple of Sundays ago, doing a "get to know you" ride on my new to me Wing and almost took Rte 9 from Wilmington to Brattleboro.

I did a more northern loop that day, coming from NH, where I rode by the Keene Bike Swap Meet instead of stopping.  It was PACKED and I decided, too nice to not ride, then walk around looking at stuff I'm not going to buy.

I crossed the CT river at Bellows Falls and took Rte 3 to Rte 11 over to Rte 100.  100 is showing age from when it was completely redone after hurricane/tropical storm Irene.

That stretch of Rte 11 from Chester to Londonderry was awesome.  I'm going back soon to do all of Rte 11.

Instead of taking 9, I hit 112 to 116 (my favorite in W/MA)

I didn't stop for lunch, but next time I do, I'll post food pic's  Smiley

Above. Sawyers Crossing just a couple of miles from the Bike Swap. Below. Stratton Mt from Stratton Golf Course parking lot.

Congratulations on your new-to-you Wing! I think you're gonna love it! cooldude

I've never ridden route 11 in VT. I'll have to give it a try sometime.  I agree about routes 112 to 116 to route 9 in MA. Beautiful roads!
