It's death for Bonnie and Clyde.

Bonnie Elizabeth Parker (October 1, 1910 – May 23, 1934) and Clyde Chestnut Barrow (March 24, 1909 – May 23, 1934) were an American criminal couple who traveled the Central United States with their gang during the Great Depression. The couple were known for their bank robberies, although they preferred to rob small stores or rural funeral homes. Their exploits captured the attention of the American press and its readership during what is occasionally referred to as the "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1934, when the couple were ambushed and shot to death in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. They are believed to have murdered at least nine police officers and four civilians.

On the day that Bonnie and Clyde were killed, the authorities found this in their car:

    Seven .45 Colt 1911 pistols
One .32 caliber Colt automatic pistol
One sawed-off 20 gauge Remington Model 11 shotgun (Bonnie’s favorite) (1st autoloading shotgun produced in the U.S.A)
Three .30-06 Browning Automatic Rifles (Clyde’s favorite) (fully automatic)
    One double action Colt revolver
One sawed-off Winchester 10 gauge lever action shotgun
One .380 caliber Colt automatic pistol

Furthermore, there were also 3,000 rounds of various ammunition, and 100 BAR magazines with 20 cartridges in each.

No Miranda warnings were necessary.

Why so many shots?

(And this IS the correct answer)

We ran out of ammo.

Local kids gone bad. If you're ever in the Dallas area and feeling it, here's the places they went and the places they rest. Local tip though - come armed, most of those areas are deep in the territory of modern gangs that are far less discerning as to whom they kill and why than the Barrow Gang was... (And I'm not forgiving the actions of the Barrow Gang either!)

Back in 2016 while I was wandering around lost in Louisiana, I came within about 20 miles of where they were ambushed.

Had I known it was that close I would've taken a little detour.

Road trip destination. It actually came up on one of our after Christmas " Run For The Sun " rides  I wish we had done that detour while in Louisiana.

On one of my Phoenix/Pensacola trips last year, we swung by there.  Its not too far south of I-20 about 40 miles east of Shreveport.  The markers have been pretty much vandalized up.  There is a little museum as you get off the interstate, but we couldn't see paying to go through it.

I do love taking pictures of old houses though - lots in that area
