This was a rather large project for me and it was holding up all other jobs. Now it’s done. I just got back from installing the last glass shelves. Check in the bank and a sigh of relief

She wanted wall to wall display cabinets. It was a perfect job for the system I created

Started out with 2x4 framed in to support the whole structure

Then 1/4” plywood that will become the backs

Next is 1/2” plywood sides, tops and bottoms

Ok now it gets easier and more fun. Trimmed out with pre painted face frames

Crown molding base molding and two coats of paint

Then doors and shelves and lighting

WOW, that is really nice work Jeff.   cooldude

Did you buy or make those doors (because those look tricky and delicate)?

I have a big china cabinet (with the lights) in my dining room, that displays all kinds of Mikasa china, painted plates, leaded crystal, and all sorts of stuff.... I never use.

I could have made a couple of those doors. Not eight. I sub contracted them. Not cheap but worth it

My Mom and my Mom-in-law, too.  When I was in college I worked in a stored that people ordered things like this out of a catalog.  This was in 1982-3.  Used to get calls ALL day asking when the "new" piece was coming out.  Lots of collectors and people with money.  Same for Swarofsky crystal.  People bought crystal watches and bags.  Was waiting for Cinderella to come in and by a slipper.
