at least it is not over your foot bridge yet, right?
We have had about 4 inches of rain past 2 days. Our sump pump was running every 1 minute off and on for hours. Without it, entire town of houses would have 2 inches of standing water in basement. Been there, done that once back in the 1990's when our sump pump failed and never noticed until got home from work.

The one time I was in Maggie Valley it rained every day.
Raining a lot up here too.
At least the temps remain low for this time of year.

Sorry to say but that is Mother Nature at work. She can do Wonderfull things and some not so wonderful but I do enjoy 99% of her handiwork.

I'm hoping that mother nature gets it all out of her system now so we have clear blue skies going to, at, and returning from InZane. I'm also hoping that everyone has a safe and enjoyable trip.

Sure, could use some of that moisture on the West side of the country.
Though I did ride pass some 3 to 4' of white stuff on Wednesday's ride. Though it should have been well over 6' this time of the year.

Things really cleared off in eastern Kentucky this afternoon! Looking to the west the sky’s are beautiful and the sun is shining and the temperature is perfect. Looking east still a lot of dark clouds but the wind is moving them out. Too far away from Wise, Virginia to make any guesses about their afternoon outlook. I’m betting that maybe tomorrow will be fantastic for them.

From one basement owner with water issues to another, get yourself a backup sump pump, a new check valve and have some extra pvc piping on hand for that just in case it fails situation. I also have 3 surface pumps which get placed on the floor to help out. As for rain, we’ve been pretty dry here, just a couple quick downpours in the last few weeks, nothing to really wash away the pollen. All day Thursday and yesterday we were forecast for severe thunderstorms and heavy rain last night. Well we got heavy rain, about 2 hours of rain in 5 minutes. The sky opened up and we had hard and heavy (Noah type) rain falling straight down for about 2 minutes then it switched to East to West sideways blowing (almost horizontal) rain for a couple minutes, then drizzle and then the sun poked its nose out for a few minutes. |

oh no worries with another sump pump. I have 4 extra ones should last me 30 more years of my life or so. Biggest issue is being HOME to notice it fails since if gone 8 hours of work from home or vacation, etc., does no good to have spare sump pump if not home to replace it when basement is flooding. It seems the darn plastic float bowl (on/off switch) fails after 6-8 years of use before the sump pump motor gives out. I have 1 spare of them as well bought just in case as well. I also have a a above floor sump pump I can sit in the crock and hose running to the drain tile in basement if need be before reaching in that VERY cold crock water to replace the darn sump pump and an extra check valve as well since been thru 1 of those as well past 24 years there.
