I haven’t seen any of our travelers posting about getting caught up in any of it. I hope all have been able to dodge the worst of it. I was going to ask some of the Facebook users about their experience thus far but I didn’t want to jinx them.

I was lucky and slept through a big storm Tuesday night in Emporia KS. It did delay my departure Wednesday morning

My brother and I had to don raingear in Indianapolis yesterday, but were all dried out by the time we made Davenport, IA. Great riding today, IA, WI, River Rd, MN, more IA again and resting tonight in Sioux Falls, SD. A few sprinkles late today and again since we arrived, but like Harold keeps saying, “who goes on a two week motorcycle trip across the country and doesn’t expect to get wet?”.

I've twice been stopped dead on a freeway (accident way ahead), miles from the next exit, and reckless driving to ride the brake-down lane to that exit, in pouring rain.  Not one good Samaritan asks you (soaking wet) to sit in their car.  The rain suit is only so good.  I considered getting out my travel cover, putting it on and getting under, but I knew I'd be asleep when traffic finally started moving again.

So now I carry a small travel umbrella on all trips.  I don't care how stupid it looks, it beats Niagara Falls down your neck for hours.

Had Severe Weather Warning last night, alarms went off on TV, my phone, my smart watch and I thought, yeah, Severe Thunder Stoms, Flash Flood Warnings,  another weather warning............   Roll Eyes

As it turns out, the weather dude was right, there's a big red barn about 150 yards away from my home, it was late afternoon, it rained so hard couldn't see that barn. the Ark I was building floated off and now I have to start all over again.   Some day, I might learn to listen to the dude that right about 50% of the time.  Wink
