Evan,

The enviable exploits and monumental deeds of you and the other youngsters on here sure do remind me of me... way back when! I haven't done anything like the grueling ride you're on now since Clinton was president! I'm happy for you that you can still undertake such!!!

I won't be there to greet you this time, I'm afraid. I have an important appointment with my urologist next Tuesday, so... I'll be stuck in the humid south for a while longer. I know you're enjoying yourself in spite of the toll it is taking, so just keep on keeping on! Watch out for those crazies sharing the road with you, my friend, and the rest of us will look forward to more updates!

Change of plan
By the time I got to the Mississippi  across 30 it was noon and no way I would reach my destination  of Sioux city. To miss 3 days of inzane...no go
So plan b to save my throttle hand and sanity
What  would Tom sawyer do
Yep take a riverboat on the river and ride south and i am floating around davenport iowa
So my friends iz will wait a year
Maybe I will go all the way south
Or maybe ride east as wife will be in Hendersonville NC for10 days starting tomorrow
Stay safe and listen to that Jimny cricket  when he warns you

Evan,

Tough break, my friend! That's all part of it, too, I'm afraid. It is wise to alter and/or abort plans when things aren't working out or if the 'cost' becomes too high. There are many things I look for when sizing-up another rider, but the one item I value most is: 'Does he/she make good decisions?' Not emotional or high-risk choices, but sensible, logical, level-headed choices... just like you do!!!

Be on the lookout for serious adventure... I've found that amazing things can come from seeming big letdowns... You won't find it; heck, you won't even see it coming. If it is to be, however, it will find you. In that case, naturally, a detailed story for the rest of us to enjoy would be appreciated! Good luck!!!

Riding down the Iowa side of the Mississippi today I caught up to a gaggle of harley riders
I noticed as I passed them that all were women
At a light I struck up conversation with the leader, once she lowered the sound on her tunes
I suppose one good decision is that I did not ask for secretary audition pics this day   Tongue

Another good one was the jumbo margarita at the mexican restaurant

There is always an adventure to be had,  sometimes it finds us when we least expect it

Best of luck at the dr Bruce
