I just got two emails from Intuit E-Commerce Service telling me I have a $350 bill (for something) and offering me to open a PDF (which I'm not doing).

I've never done business with them (books), never been billed by them, have no idea what I did to owe $350, and googled them and got multiple hits talking about SPAM and Phishing email attempts using their name.  And also got hits about Intuit security asking to be notified about scams.

I just went to a new doctor, and their outfit is all high tecky in how they do business, but my health ins paid the entire bill and I owe them nothing.  I may call them ask if they do business with them and now say I owe.

I should simply delete these emails, right?

If you do not recognize the source (sender) then yes.

I also check the sender's email address by putting the cursor on it.  It will then show the full email address.  Lots of times, the email address is ..xx.  or something strange.  Just verifies the notion that the email is not valid.

I never click on the links if I have any questions at all.  I might do a search to see what comes up (for the address) but......

From what you have said, I'd simply delete it.

Jess,
Just send me a check for $3500 and I'll handle it for you.   Wink
Or, you could just delete it.   If you really owe someone some money, I'm pretty sure they'll contact you again.

Delete it and notify Intuit security. Someone else will open the attachment and get screwed. Intuit can help stop the crooks. For a while anyway.....

DOn't EVER click on attachments in an email unless you know and trust the source, AND you're expecting said attachment. Given what you stated - follow GWS's advice. A real bill will come via snail mail, and it won't have any computer nastys in it.

BTW - since we know you are decidedly not leading edge on your OS, what browser are you using since Microsoft EOLed Internet Explorer yesterday ?
