So I spent the day cleaning and organizing my parts bins. WOW! I found parts l didn’t even know I had. And now they are all organized. I think I could almost build a valkyrie from scratch. Ok, that’s a slight exaggeration. But. Many future problems are pre solved. Lol

Not sure about the temp in the shade here but, was told the heat index was 105 degrees. Did some yard work (not in the shade) and I believe it was at least that warm.
Speaking of those parts you found, you wouldn't just happen to have an Ultimate Big Boy with backrest hiding somewhere. While I may have to buy one upfront, I'd like to ride one for a short time to see if that's what I want to end up on.

The beauty of group rides is that you can often count on someone having a Big Boy to easily swap out with a turn of two keys (for a test ride). I will tell you a brand new one is softer than any Lowboy, but firmer than you might think (not bad) but softens up over a year or two (and may loose a small bit of seat height too). Also, at an inch over stock seat height, it will alter your eye to shield height some too. I can also say that an Airhawk seat cushion does wonders for any failing seat. And the big air bubble design lets some air under you in hot weather. Cheaper than new seats. The Medium is what you want (the large just had a longer nose that got on the tank and lifted your junk, if they have a large anymore). They come with tie downs, but the non slip bottom cover rubber stays put riding very well. You run them around half full (never all full), but on long days, adding a little or letting a little out during stops can help with comfort. https://airhawk.net/product-category/seat-cushions/0iQw~~60_57.JPG) But I have not used mine since the new Big Boy. (but few long trips either)

May have reached 80 yesterday in south central Kentucky. Went on a ride with the Northern Valkyrie Riders group, with some southerners thrown in for good measure. Never got “hot” and the roads were great, many or much of them tree lined and shady. Gods handy work was on full display from beautiful sky’s to waterfalls with rainbows. I think I tallied somewhere over 200 miles and enjoyed every inch! Today looks to be even better then the thermostat gets bumped up for the rest of the week.

I just mowed the yard (current indicated temp of 95 - I have no idea of the heat index (probably over 100). Even on a lawn tractor, .75 acre takes awhile (1.5-2 hours).

airhawk seat cushions are great, have one myself. I never go 1/2 full just enough (say tops 1/4th full) to raise me off the stock Valk seat. If I go 1/2 inflated or so, it raises me up off the seat too much and being only 5'10" 30 inch inseam does not allow me to go flat footed fully at times on uneven pavement.
well worth the 50 bucks (used) I paid for it. Guy had a HD who owned it said he never used it so let him pay the new 90 bucks price first.
Agree on HEAT, yesterday went for 13.6 mile bicycle ride wife said you sure do not want sunscreen on forehead (face) and arms. Said no only out 2-3 hours in the sun will be fine. Am regretting it now my scalp under my hair hurts to take a shower on normally hot water and face and forearms feel HOT all day today.

Nope, just a Lowrider. OK, I've got an Ultimate Low Boy with back rest on my two wheeler but hoping to find a Big Boy with back rest for my Valk Trike. Reference the temp, I'm told it'll cool off sometime around mid to late September. Rams

Just to balance this thread out, yesterday it was in the upper 40's to low 50's here in central NY with strong northern winds, heavy cloud cover and steady drizzle. November weather.
Today the sun was out and made it to the 60's, but you'd never know it. A very strong, cold, northern wind kept everybody in a jacket and most bikes in the garage.
I suppose someone will say some days it's just too hot to ride, but we don't get that up here!

OK, I've got an Ultimate Low Boy with back rest on my two wheeler but hoping to find a Big Boy with back rest for my Valk Trike. Maybe you know this, but your Lowboy backrest will fit a Bigboy seat (assuming both are modern Ultimate stab/flat plate mounts; Ultimate's earliest backrests used square mount posts, now ancient history). The same backrest fits both seats, and now go for $240 for a new one, so since they are not bolted on underneath (like Corbins), it's easy peasy to swap them between bikes and seats. Save you some money. Now if you get a decent deal for both used, different story. I run a wide Mustang backrest in my Bigboy (perfect fit stab mount) because it's a better backrest for my body than the Ultimate (it's firmer and sits down flush to the back of the seat, unlike the Ultimate which sits an inch or more above the seat back, and cannot be adjusted lower (without welding). Now I'm not sure if Ultimate sells seats without the backrest stab mount in back, but if they do, don't buy one of those used if you want a backrest. https://ultimateseats.ca/1401 A better backrest for Ultimate seats (IMHO) I swap it between my Lowboy and Bigboy.

Thats warm, and, we're moving down there permanently. That'll take some getting used to. Now to go and get the Valk running. Hasn't been run in a long time and a fella is looking at it. Fuel is only getting to the left side. But it almost started on those 3 cylinders. I'll see if I remember how to remove the seat and fuel tank. First I need to go get a pressure switch for the house water pump. Sell a house and everything starts to break.
