Pac Ten USC and UCLA will join the Big Ten in 2024.

What the hell?   crazy2

It was bad enough when they let in Maryland and Rutgers.

It'll still be called the Big Ten, but it's up to 16.

It's clearly all about money, but what about tradition?

The SEC is adding Texas and Oklahoma as well in 2025 (also up to 16).

I suppose Michigan will enjoy a November game in SoCal, but I bet USC won't enjoy snow games in the midwest.

Yes, it's all about the money. I was irate when Syracuse (my alma mater) joined the ACC for football dollars and my beloved Orange basketball had to leave the Big East to play in exotic locations like Georgia and North Carolina!

Name, Image, and Likeness deals are going to transform college sports even more than conference realignment. The sheer amount of money flying around the top college teams is insane.

Oh well, a good Division ll game will now seem all the more attractive to me.

About the money, no doubt.

But, I suspect they'll quickly figure out what Nebraska discovered.   Away games won't have nearly as many traveling fans and, home games will have less attending from visiting teams.   My prediction, local merchants will not benefit from this decision.

The Purdue band say they won't be a traveling to CA either. Wait until they play in a Midwest rainy, cold, and wind blowing in the stadium game.  Grin

ME also! SU fan my whole life. The Big East was the best BB Conference ever, Even had 3 out of four teams in the final four once. They played BB the way it was meant to be played, rough!

SU left for $$$ because of football. Made me sick.

I really miss those Big East rivalries. Brutal. I still remember Jim Boeheim's long-time assistant Mike Hopkins' nickname when he played for SU - The Human Bruise.

Nothing in the ACC even comes close.

I'm a Coug.  Save your laments, I enjoyed it and have a great career because of it.   Smiley

Pullman is in Eastern WA and we do get very cold, windy, snowy winters.  Home games were always fun later in the season to play the other PAC 10 (at the time) teams because none of them knew cold!

check out the 1992 Apple Cup 'snow bowl'.  The Fuskies just couldn't handle it.  Wink

This really sucks for the PAC teams though as now we're really on par with the Big Sky Conference.
