On the bike at 8.30 hoping to get a clear shot at the BRP before the holiday traffic.
Beautiful day with blue skies and a few fluffy clouds.
Riding above the clouds it's about 60F and as I descend through the clouds the temperature slowly increases to about 73F.
A few other bikes are out and no traffic impedes my BRP ride.
Wolf Mountain Rd. has deteriorated and is not much fun anymore.
A stop at Wal Mart for a some groceries and a new straw hat for sun protection when sitting outsid the Valley Tavern on a Sunday afternoon listening to local bands.
I'm patting myself on the back during the ride for planning the early ride so as to miss the typical afternoon rain.
As I round a long curve on the 4 lane back into Maggie Valley I can see grey clouds hanging low at the far end of the Valley and darn it the unmistakable pale grey obscuring the far peaks. Rain!
It's not worth stopping to put on my rain suit. So I get drenched as a mini frog choker drops onto Maggie Valley.
At the west end on the valley the road is dry as is the side road to home.
