I`m working on my website with web cam streaming.
Ordered a new computer today. Intel Core i7 860 / 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Prosessor and 16GB RAM
and a web cam.  I will do some testing before I have my garage "online". I will have all the hardware in house during next week. I have planned to change fork seals live on my website.
This will be broadcast live without commercial breaks  Smiley   if I get it to work  Roll Eyes

A few minutes of cleaning and dusting and it will be good.

Dag, that sounds great.

But if that garage gets any cleaner it can probably be used for a hospital.

What ever you do, don't have any strippers in there handing you the tools (without giving us plenty of advance notice).   Roll Eyes

You think that's enough RAM? Cripes, I think I could run every program on my computer with that!

With the power that massive computer must be drawing, better be careful someone doesn't
switch on the lights in any other rooms at your house  2funny

I have been playing with web and IP cams for some time, they can be very handy. A HD friend of mine which lives in an other state bought a bunch accessories and was going to take to a HD dealer to have it installed because he wasn't super handy with mechanics. I convinced him he could do it himself. So we got our webcam connected and he pointed the webcam  at the area of the bike he was working  on , and I walked him through it, after a few hours he was done and saved a ton of cash. To my knowledge webcams can only go one on one with basic programs.  I use IP Network cams and multi users can watch at the same time and you don't need a have a computer to use it. They have there own built in sever just have to connect to a router either hard wire or wireless. I have two of them  and there not expensive. When I go for a cruse I take me netbook and I can logon to the IP netcams and check out the house.

Dan

Have a source for cheap IP Cams?  Brand? Model?

I'm testing some software now, and it looks like it's possible. But if it's streaming one hour it will be a very large file, and it will not be an action moovie.
Than it's better to videotape the work and edit the video to max five minutes and upload it to YouTube
