I just bought a Big Red 1500 LB motorcycle Lift/Jack/Dolly. It was $129.83 on Amazon.com with free shipping. Not a bad deal at all. If you are looking for a reasonably priced lifting jack, this is a pretty nice tool. There are a lot of different designs and price levels. I made a short video of the un-boxing and assembly. I think this will come in handy when I pull the engine from my Valkyrie during the restoration.

Here is the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eif4Dgas0ZI&t=626s

I have that exact same jack.  Got it on sale at Pep Boys auto parts for about $50 (in like '06). Except I didn't get the long drag bar with it.  Never any problem.   cooldude

Bought that lift in '09 at an O'Rielly's for $60 with a red handle.  never use the handle.

No problem with the jack.  Been used a number of times.

I never used the handle either. My model has a foot pedal to lower the lift leaving your hands free to grab hold of the bike

Watch out for the spring bolt when you shove the lift jack under there. If you bang it hard enough you'd start a crease and eventually the bolt breaks into two.

I have the Harbor Freight version - had it for about 20 years now. I decided to take it apart to grease the pivot points, and found that some of the bolt shanks didn't reach all the way through, so it was pivoting on the threads. Typical Chinese - functional but flawed. New set of bolts where needed, and it has lifted every bike I've owned since. It has the foot release and a handle to move the bike, if needed (properly strapped, of course).

That kickstand spring bolt and spring are two parts that you should have spares for and carried on board.  Speed humps taken too fast and high manhole covers can rip them off too.  And a zip ties to tie the kickstand up to get home.

I used a bungee that was in the saddlebags. This allowed me to sit on the bike, and while balancing the bike, pull up the kickstand and tie the kickstand in the up position. A bungee is not ideal while riding since the kickstand bounces with each bump. I'm working on a better gizmo. Do not tie the upper end of the bungee super tightly because when dismounting you'd have to undo the knot one handed unless you have a wall to lean the bike against. Also, there should be two tiny washers on the ground if you can find them. If memory serves *two* washers. The washers go on the shoulder of the kickstand bolt.

Yes, one should always carry a kickstand emergency setup. You can't ride the bike home without it.
