Have always been told to follow my mechanic's advice or don't go to him.   He actually told me that.  Cheesy
Docs fall into the same category.   Do what he/she says and come out in the end ready to ride.

Hope all goes well for you and when you're ready to ride, give me a shout, we'll do something (even if it ain't right).  Wink

Been throught the "heart" thing once so, I agree, gett'n old sucks but, doing it with bad knees takes all the fun out of it.  Cheesy

Rams

I'm definitely following the Dr's advice this time around.

I don't want to do this for a 3rd time.

although not as old as most here, only 52,  past 2 years has not been fun either.  2 bad hips needing replacement especially last 1 year or so.  It makes lifting my leg OVER the seat nearly impossible.  Once on am fine but never 100% since still have to lift my left leg up/down which is hard to do quickly more so my left hip not allowing me to very well without pain and slowness doing it.

Late Thursday night my wife age 52 also,  threw up 9x's in 6 hours with lower right side pain and woke me up at 5 a.m. saying we need to go to urgent care something is wrong.  I was all for it so got there right at 7 a.m. and 20 minutes of waiting to get in (so much for urgent care), and 5 minutes later sent us to ER since they were pretty sure was appendix rupture.  YEP,  2 hours in ER until room opened up and dull pain got to be moderate sharper pains.  Waited and waited surgery scheduled 3 p.m. but was actually 4 p.m. running late.  Done with surgery 5 p.m. and went well but wife is VERY VERY sore and unable to bend down or lift over 8lbs.    All weekend long she is wearing my XXL shorts since all her clothes are tighter in the waste and 3 one inch incisions in tummy need few weeks to heal.

So,  between my 4 days in hospital treating diverticulitis in May and 2 months later wife needing appendix removal surgery,  then one kid needing hernia surgery before all of this and wisdom teeth pulled, and mom needing 2 kidney stone surgeries and 2 trips to ER all within 3 months, I am wipped OUT, had enough.

Dang

That is some really bad luck.

I'm glad that your wife is doing OK.

A ruptured appendix is not something to play around with.

yah,  hopefully 2022 can be DONE ASAP and 2023 has to be better, right?    Never having any pain issues in tummy, both of us,  and all of a sudden in 2 months apart,  me left side colon,  wife right side appendix,  is enough.  Mine coulda been worse totally ruptured colon needing surgery but luckily no 5 one inch incisions needed vs. my wife's 3 one inch incisions.    She is very sore and tender and unable to do much and all about the bad time since our garden finally is GREEN BEAN picking time having to bend down.  Between my bad hips hard to bend down and wife's sore tummy, we make quite a pair fumbling around in our yard, even me mowing yard with push mower took 1.5 hours this Saturday since wife was unable to help.  Usually takes 1 hour but I walk pretty darn slow nowadays.  I usually do the trimming with cheap push mower easier to handle while the wife uses bigger, more powerful, self propelled push mower on the straight aways since she can walk 2x's faster than me.  With both of us mowing, it is done in 30 minutes which is nice.

Mark, haven't been on the board much lately.  Surprised to see your news. Glad things are going well and hopefully you'll be good as new soon.

I've got a t-shirt that says "I thought getting old would take longer" get thumbs up from people all the time.  It does suck, it seems I spend more time going to Dr. appointments than I do working my part time job.
