Hello !

I am a new member with the VRCC.
(Thank you Carl for getting me registered and for quick replies !, much appreciated )

I ride a 1997 Valkyrie and have been enjoying it since I got her home (about a week now !)
Looking to share my experiences and learn from many of yours.

I am looking for a slim / sporty windshield and have seen many fly screens from major retailers, including Mohawk, Gustafson and others and am unable to find one that I saw on a YouTube video from the Bike Show posted about 2 years. I have also reached to the post owner, but have not heard back.

Here is the YouTube video
https://youtu.be/jlOhYwzG5G8

If any of you know this specific windshield / have seen it / have it , could you kindly DM me or post some initial responses.

I know large windscreens are probably more beneficial, but I do not like the look. I use full helmets when I go on long rides and all I need is for some reduction in wind buffeting.

Thank you again !. Appreciate any pointers.

Ride Safe !

As soon as I find out how to post pictures of my bike, I shall do so.

The screen closest to the gauges looks like  National Cycle fly screen.

Had a dark tinted National Cycle flyscreen on a Shadow many years ago.  It was sporty looking, but it didn't screen many flies.   Wink

I had a 17" SlipStreamer Viper from the Shadow that worked perfectly but the sudden wind pressures doing 90 mph. passes would loosen the bar mounts thus had to go to a fork mount 17" Classic.

That’s what I figured, but then you have guys like Willow who want the full, in the wind experience!

I have the full interstate fairing and regular height shield (15.5"), but got the strained bugs through the fairing vent so often, I had to shove foam rubber in there.

The strained bugs actually taste worse than the whole ones, which if you're lucky just go right down the gullet whole. (half helmets)

I am going to try out the Switchblade shorty (borrowed from a buddy of mine) for a few miles both local roads and highway during dusk and dawn and see how many flies it collects Smiley

The Shorty looks pretty good and has a slim profile. Lets see.
