I'm careful to reset the tripometer back to zero every time I fill up with petrol but after a while the "hundreds" dial starts moving.
It's currently showing 447 miles yet I've only done 47. This is the first time it's jumped that much. It usually just jumps up to "1".
On other occasions it acts perfectly as normal.
I don't just reset it the once, to zero. Since I've noticed the error I rewind it back to zero a few times to make sure it's reset.
Anyone else had this problem and is there a fix?

My Hondas have been doing that since the 1960s. Cure is easy, just reset it to 999.9 every time. It only makes a .1 mile difference, but it cures the issue.

Mine done it twice in 9 yrs. I usually can "feel" the sweet spot by going slow to the final numeral.

A couple of the mechanical ones I've had on Valks over the years would hang on 9.9.

Good grief. Sounds as if this could be the answer.
Many thanks.
I'll get back to you.
