went to the local lawn tractor supplyer today needing a part for my 20 year old snowblower. for the last couple of years iv'e been debating getting rid of my walk behind snowblower and getting a new lawn tractor with a blower and blade... while at the dealer i inquired about a price on the new tractor and assesories. well the dealer knows what tractor i have now and suggested i get the assesories for the current one. iv'e looked on the internet and as far as i knew those assesories were never availible.

heres the kicker..he has a brand new blower with the subframe and a used blade..he also threw in a set of tire chains and wheel weights. all for 850 bucks. told him that i wanted to trade in my 20 year old blower..said he'd give me 400 for it.

so what ya'll think..i think i'm an idiot if i don't take him up on it..i looked at the price sheet for the blower alone and it was 950 bucks.

if i take the deal i can get everything i want for around 500 bucks..  coolsmiley

There is still almost 2 months of winter left.
Pass this deal up and you may be cursed with a "Buffalo style" blizzard,...don't tempt fate!

Sweet deal - - jump on it.  I need a blower around the house here now, but when I retire and relocate, I hope to have a place where I can put a blade on one of my ATVs and have a little more fun moving the white stuff around.

I was wondering the same thing... I thought it was the thing Six Flags uses to make their artificial snow slope here every December, but I did some internet research, and turns out it's a device yankee's use to sling snow into each other's driveways...

Cool... What will they think of next???

That's not bad for a winter deal. Looks like they would be cheaper in the summer. I'm surprised you can find deals during the winter. Interesting.

Heck yeah...sounds like a sweet deal.  My dad has a Gravely tractor with a snow-blower attachment and it works great.  The only problem is that for the past few years, we really haven't had enough snow to make it worthwhile.  This year, he didn't even put it on...so you know what happened?  We get the most snow we've seen in several years.  So we used the New Holland skid loader to clear the driveways instead.  It's nice to have a dad next door with lots of toys...uh, I mean tools.  cooldude

If I was buying for myself, though, I'd agree with highcountry and buy a 4x4 ATV with a snow blade.  For our uses, the tractor-mounted snow blower is almost overkill for all but the most severe blizzards...which only happen once about every 10 years or so.  Plus, ATV's are more fun than a lawn tractor.  Cheesy

I just had my 11 year old tractor in for a $400 repair so I was thinking of upgrade to a new one. My dealer told me to fix it. Just to buy a new snowblower attachment would be $1800. I had the old tractor fixed.

Great deal. We have some of that stuff on the mountain now.
I might take the kids to see it, but only IF I wanna go.
