What would be your hearts wish had you won the 1.5??? Billion mega lottery?

For me...... a big Texas Hill country ranch....new cars for the wife and me.....and my 2 boys....and my 4 grand children.  Some big ticket items for my closest friends....and many more things my heart has always wanted......Like a vintage motorcycle collection....and oh yeah.....for sure the biggest two story mobile home they make.

Also a large sum to my church.....if they would take it since it was won gambling.

What would you all want?

I'm a simple man.... I've always dreamed of owning a few of my very own congresscritters, nothing fancy...

Oh, and the very last USA Made Gold Wing would be nice too...

I would get my 2001 GMC restored to better than new condition.  No fancy sterio or big wheels. Just a nice truck.  My wife could finish retiring and I know she would want a round the world cruise.
I would want a garage built to my specs on out Northern property.  I would help those who stuck with me when I had troubled times.

I just read the post to my wife and she added "a four carat blue diamond".

Well, after taxes there would be at least 10% to various churches I've attended over the years while traveling or in moving to a new area. Next, I would set up a chair/trust at the college where two of my daughters graduated, large enough to really make a difference for anyone in need and would be in the girls names...they're also the two girls I lost to cancer so would really be more meaningful to me. Then set up a trut for all the grandchildren & great g-kids to attend college or whatever they want to pursue. It would releive the parents of paying out-of-pocket for their continued education. This would include all of my grandkids, my wife Rita's and it appears probably my new friend Nancy's grandkids. Although I haven't had the best relationship with Rita's kids since her death, I wouldn't leave the grandkids out of the picture.

As for tangible goods, I would pay off some of the debt my girls have such as mortgages, cars, etc., plus some of my son-in-law's business expenses so he can buy some newer equipment. Then do something for myself & possible new life's partner like a place on the water with a large multi-vehicle garage. If I were younger I would also buy a small airplane just so I could go out and bore holes in the sky on a nice summer day.

Last but not least, I would buy a nice place in Florida so I could get away from the lovely winters they have here in Wisconsin.

Sounds to me like you would end up having to get a reverse mortgage on your new mansion to pay for all that....haha

I’ve thought about this.

Serious money causes problems.  The game would be to not let anyone know you won . . . at least the large sum.  So, you come out and say you won $500,000 on something, probably casino money.  Then one could buy a few things.  Next, you hire a sneaky lawyer to find ways for your friends and family to “win” as well some odd amounts of money.  Not a lot but enough to make their lives easier.

The game within, if you will.  Let folks think they came upon a windfall on their own merits.  I’m around people with serious money a lot, it does not solve all problems . . . in fact it creates conflict within families.

Give it away without anyone knowing, that would be the game.

And if that fails and word gets out of the riches . . . I would buy my way to Mars on Elon Musk’s 1st mission.  Smiley

It would be hard to keep quiet the news you had won.   If you took the cash payout you would get approximately $500,000,000.    If you just put it in the bank cd at 1% you would get $5,000,000/yr.  Dont know that I could spend that much....be fun trying.

Agreed but, there'd be a lot of folks wondering where I went to.
Winning that kind of money would end up with you knowing who really was a friend and who simply wanted what you now had.   Just color me sinical.

I would start a foundation to help the families of service men and woman who gave all and to help veterans who need help of any kind

Then maybe a new corvette and gold wing

Never one for many material things

for sure would not need help bidding on a strawberry pie next year  Grin  but for sure would not tell any of you or anyone

At this point, I wouldn't do a thing. I'm doing my best to downsize. I'd probably give it all, well, most, to children hospitals.

Ya know, after thinking about it, Serk is right.   In my case, Jay Leno would be envious.  Cheesy
Not really a bunch of cars, but Kubota toys would be abundant.
Edited:   Oh and a whole lot of dirt (as in acreage).   Makes me wonder if Colorado or Tennessee is for sale.  Wink

A wonderful idea, if giving it away was my goal, thinking that I'd probably help build a wall down south.  Wink

What would I buy?

1) Charlize Theron. (C'mon, that's a no-brainer.)

2) Two or three retired Honda engineers to help me start up my next-gen Valkyrie manufacturing shop. We'll use the 1800 engine with fuel injection, comfortable seats, and a little more growl through the pipes.  When the accountants tell us how much money we're losing, Charlize and I will just laugh and laugh.....
