Paul,
Sundance was one of the most friendly, enjoyable little towns I stayed in on my recent Inzane trip. The ladies that worked the restaurant across the street from the motel were the best. The motel (the Arrowhead I believe), was also a very nice and pleasant place to stay.

Well, I do hope the town stays safe and no one gets burnt out. But, I had to look up those miniature Highland cattle, that's some expensive burger......... Hard for me to imagine paying that kind of money for something I'm going to eat. Better be dang tasty. Rams

Sundance was one of the most friendly, enjoyable little towns I stayed in on my recent Inzane trip. We stopped near there on the first day of the trip home. While looking on google, I considered Sundance. Instead I picked the worst motel in Deadwood ... -Mike

Yep and me seeing Jerry Garcia at the local bar was a plus.

The Black Hills of Wyoming don't get nearly as much credit as they deserve. There are some wonderful state highways in that region with virtually no traffic. If you're heading to Sturgis, US-85 North from Newcastle, Wyoming is a beautiful stretch of road. And like most Wyoming roads, the speed limits are high enough to enjoy the ride without worrying about a ticket. Most 2 lane roads (even the curvy ones) are 65 or 70, and most interstates are 80.

I rode to Sundance after IZ 8 in Frisco. Did the route up thru Newcastle. There was a forest fire the days before I rode to Sundance that was contained the day before I got there. The smell was still in the air and a local field was full of firefighters and helicopters.

Just checked the fire incidence website. Looks like the fire is 5-6 miles away from Sundance and not really headed that way. It's around 6K acres in size.
