Well folks, Bev and I went down and I have progressive Ins. Full coverage.
Well full coverage doesnt mean what it used to mean. My medical max just so happens to be 2500 dollars.
I hit a dog, black road, black dog at 9:30 pm. never saw it. About shepherd size.
I was skinned up and so was Bev but she wasnt talking right so sent her to the er via ambulance.
They did a full body cat scan and heres the kicker. Ave cost of full cat scan via google is 3500 dollars.
Tri Star horizon in dickson, tn billed me 41,000 dollars. and you guessed it. i have 2500 max on my insurance.
If my passenger would have been my neighbor it would have been covered but since it was my spouse, Nope! we do not have insurance on here because the affordable health care is not affordable for someone like me being on SSI.
so check your insurance for coverage.
we are healing slowly but surely.
see ya on the road...

What a double whammy!  You did the right thing sending your wife in to get checked out regardless.  A fine example of a vampire insurance company, sucking from the whole industry for their gain.

Sorry this happened to you.  Glad you're both on the road you recovery.

I take it the dog is no more.  If you still can,  try to find the dog's owner.  If so,  their home insurance should cover your cycle and all med payments.  I had to do that coming home one night around 10 p.m. hitting an old german shepherd pretty much head on with my car 50 mph knocking late at night on the only house I suspected might be the dog's owners house, was hoping anyways.  YEP, lady answered and was sobbing but the construction worker male of the house was NOT happy at me mangling his dog badly being about 14 years old deaf and blind in the middle of the road late at night.  his wife calmed him down some 30 years ago and asked if they could call the police to get accident report even since was well before cell phones in early 90's.   their home insurance covered my 4K in damages to my car.
