Romeo and I left Troy, MI about 0900 hrs on 8/18/22 and took the scenic route to our AirBnB in historic Lisbon, OH.  Why historic you ask?  Well for one, (SmokinJoe will like this) General John Morgan and his troops of the Confederates led the most northern penetration during the Civil War entering grounds just South of Lisbon in 1863. The Union soldiers facilitated the several "underground railroad" station throughout Lisbon where slaves were hidden during the day in violation of the federal law. With the help of locals they were transferred by the cover of night to Canada where they would celebrate their freedom.

The area and roads around Lisbon are beautiful, rolling hills and very little traffic.  The Lincoln Highway (route 30) runs through Lisbon.  It was a pleasant 35 mile ride each day to the Pittsburgh International Race Complex (https://www.pittrace.com), a great facility.  We attended the qualifying events on Friday, and various classes of racing (400 to 1000cc) on Saturday and Sunday.  After qualifying on Friday, we took a short ride to nearby McConnell's Mill, a grist mill my family went to when I was a kid.  The weather was awesome, only a few sprinkles the entire trip, although it poured rain on Saturday night once we were safely back at our accommodations.  The ride home on Monday was just the way I like it, dry and uneventful.  All in all, a great trip.

Thanks for the information.  Wife and I will be taking a ride up that way, almost to Lisbon, but not quite.   Somewhere Around Mt. Sterling we will turn south east toward WV on Ohio 56...

I watched as much of the racing as I could find on fox sports racing.

It's cool to watch these 1000cc bikes sliding the back tire through corners, not losing time.

The most impressive rider was Mathew Scholtz of south Africa. Riding with a busted wrist and outrunning all but Gagne.

Really superb stuff.
