Over the summer, I had my Valkyrie down for an embarrassingly long time while waiting for parts and time to handle the front suspension work that I needed to do.  While I was unable to ride the Valkyrie, I took my wife's Vulcan out quite a bit, just to scratch the two-wheel itch.
I stopped at the store on my way home from one of these trips, and as I walked in, a guy corralled me and said "Nice bike.  I used to ride too, but I got married, had kids, now I'm driving my wife's SUV."
It took all I had to not just destroy what was left of his spirit by saying "Oh, that's interesting, I ended up taking my wife's vehicle today too."

I actually had almost the same conversation more than once while out on the spousal unit's ST1300..... I'd mention I'm on the wife's little bike since my full size bike is being tinkered on or some such....

I took a solo ride to Carlsbad Caverns a few weeks before the first spawn was extracted from the spousal unit, taking pics at the National Park sign a minivan pulled up, several kids and the wife inside, husband gets out.... "Wanna swap keys? Right here right now, no questions asked?"

...to this day I wonder if he was serious or not....
