Some videos from todays ride from home to Abingdon, VA.  Very nice day,  roads not bad.  Loaded on Youtube instead of Rumble becuase of the difference in final video viewing quality.

Since we have gotten older we don't push a days travel as much (mileage wise).   The average day is 250 miles to 330 miles.   Depending on ...

Anyway, this trip was to visit a specific road in Ohio.  So, tonight we are in Kentucky.

I will only post one video today because, while there were nice roads, they were just nice.  This road is rural and nice.   All two lanes of if.

Kentucky has many fine rural roads with rural farms, homes, horses,,,,,,   Just a very nice place to ride.

Still have issue with YouTube video quality vs original quality.

No videos today and it was the most scenic part of the ride and that was the intent.  Must not have fully charged the camera battery last night.  Only got the video of us leaving the motel.

I will up date this with the route fundamentals later.  There were some really nice rural roads and some very nice curey roads.   Al most all in Ohio....  Very impressed.

Todays Ride.  Well, I have a backup camera.  It mounts under the nose of the wing.  So.... I can just turn it on and let it run.  It shuts off after about 30 minutes.

I then can edit the file so they are not so boring.  Besides the above, the other drawback is that it only records in 720p.   But, still its a video.

Todays ride from Parkersburg, WV to Lexington, VA.   A very very nice ride.  WV 16 was very good.  Just a few busy spots until we got within about 10 miles of Lexington.

Traveling East on WV 16 from Parkersburg.  The elevation was not that high (700-900 feet) but there was this stretch of 9% downgrade roads

Traveling the Highland Scenic Highway East toward Lexington, VA.  Nice road.  It was recommended to us by a local at a gas stop.  We wondered if my routing took us that way and it did.  Starts in the small town we stopped in.

Close encounters on a nice windy rural road.  We had been following the logging truck for about 20 - 30 minutes or so it seemed. And then this "semi" seems to believe it owns both lanes.

Finally got a chance to pass the logging truck....

Todays ride was from Lexington, VA to Lenoir, NC.  We tried to take the Blue Ridge Parkway as much as possible.  It sort of worked out.  I have lots of video, it will probably get boring so I am only going to show the first part.  When we got to the first overlook and stopped and looked out, the clouds were a floor, fluffy, and just like a nice rug.  Hard to describe and pictures don't always do it justice.s

First some pictures

At one of the "Overlooks" there was some nature related activity.

Video of first part of todays ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A video of those who were gathering to watch the "Hawk Migration". That is an assumption but.... looks of cameras out and lookers..

You passed right through my "Backyard" on this ride.

At one point you were only 12 miles away from the house.

It looks like the valleys were shrouded in fog.

I'll bet that you missed the BEST view in this section of the BRP.

About MM 76 is a sign for Thunder Ridge Parking Area.

Though it's not an official overlook, a short trail leads to one of the best views on the VA section of the BRP.

I think I rememberer seeing the turn off for Thunder Ridge and the Parking Area.  I was not sure how long the walk would be to the view.

Also, never know about the roads but it was probably all paved.  Next time  Wink

It's a large parking lot that provides access to the Appalachian Trail.

The walk to the view is an easy 200ft.
