The link: https://abc7.com/california-kidnapping-abduction-surveillance-video-footage-merced-jesus-manuel-salgado/12297480/The family had a trucking business and were kidnapped by Jesus Manuel Salgado, that zip-tied the father and uncle and forced at gun point the whole family (mother and a baby of only 8 months old) to follow him to a truck. The bodies were found yesterday ( https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/06/us/california-family-found-dead-thursday), details about the motivation are unknown, the suspect tried to kill himself and is now sedated in a hospital. I keep imagining the scene and wonder what could have happened if at least *one* of the adults present had a gun to defend themselves? Even if he/she was a bad shot, that could have bought time for the others to escape and a 8 months baby would still be alive today. To quote the Sheriff working in the case: " _ There is a special place in hell for this guy.". Meanwhile Cali politicians are busy passing new gun laws to block honest citizens to have access to guns to defend themselves (considering that the State is unable to do it).  I have a hard time to understand why I am the only one that sees this insanity? All my friends/family are against the 2A and simply ignore the facts that: a) Cali politicians don't care about the people. b) Criminals don't share our values and are utterly willing to kill for material things. c) Disarming the people is not the solution. |

Whether about guns or any other subject, the D's solution for everything is to punish the law abiding for the sins of the wrongdoers.
A local example is: Since covid, we have no more local police patrol, and now people drive 45-50 through our housing area. The solution is not to have law enforcement hammer the offenders, it's to put in speed bumps all over the place. To punish the (vast majority) law abiding for the sins of the few.

Yup. keep releasing violent offenders. no bail serious crimes. defund the L E Os. makes pistols dang near impossible for Law Abiding CITIZENS to come by. put more obstacles on the procuring a CCW in democrat states/cities. when CRIMINALS come in front of judges give em a wrist slap and turn em loose No matter How heinous the crime. coming soon to a Republican area near you. You have forgotten a few d) Politicians/elites have their own armed security. e) They also have walls around their houses and compounds. The Daily Caller traveled to Obama’s D.C. neighborhood to find out if the “10-foot wall” existed. What did we find? Obama does not have one wall. He has many. He has barricades. He has armed guards entirely blocking the suburban road where he lives. Multiple cement and iron barricades block the road leading up to the Obama mansion. A Secret Service car and agent keep people from entering the stretch of road on both ends approximately 1,000 feet in both directions. People are sheep, they dont want to protect themselves. Guns=bad. Corp media doing its job. |

Republicans are FAR FAR FAR from perfect.....
But... if you (You being plural, not specifically just one person, although it starts with one brave person) don't stop voting for the ones that value criminals over citizens, want to disarm citizens and leave them defenseless, well...... You're gonna keep having revolving door justice with violent criminals free to prey on defenseless citizens...
It was an event like this that gave me an epiphany and switched this lifelong staunch hard left Democrat from ever voting for a Democrat again. Doesn't guarantee the Republicans will get my vote (Hello Libertarians!) but the Democrats are 100% guaranteed to NEVER see a vote from me again.

sad indeed. what would you all do if Jesus, whether had a gun or not, do if asked to leave your house with him? I think I would say NOT leaving my house and see what he does. I highly doubt Jesus would be able to MOVE me outta my house by force unless he shot me or somehow knocked me out. If so, I doubt he would then be able to drag my fat keester outta my own house then at least?
I hope I never have to find out though. Even in our pretty safe area, rural town, there have been 2 instances that I know of with break ins in my neighborhood the past 30 years here. One involved a gun and shooting, the other our neighbor ran him outta the house at night chasing him off in the middle of the night.
