Daughter has been sick since last Monday tested positive on Wednesday. Wife’s been sick since Wednesday tested positive on Saturday, they both went down hill fast. Lots of sleeping and coughing and headaches with head cold symptoms, mild fevers. I’m starting to feel a twitch in my nose, went into work for an hour to finish something I started Friday that needed the weekend to cure so customer could have it today…home now and I’ll ride this out…again. Is 9:45am too early for some medicinal Irish whiskey?

So my almost 25 y/o daughter who usually stays home unless she goes to see her boyfriend at his school, went out with a group of friends Saturday before she got sick. As of mid week last, most of that crew is sick. No idea of they went for tests even though daughter told them she was positive. Those darn kids!

Paxlovid?

Is that the *take in the first few days* medicine? I don’t think we’re eligible, none of us are high risk.

4:30am really bad muscle aches in my legs, hamstrings, quads and calves, woke me up. Took 500mg Tylenol. Feels like the first time w/cooties, like I climbed dozens and dozens of flights of stairs all at once.  Some chills. I don’t feel sick but don’t exactly feel sick either.

I can now express sympathy for you and those who contracted COVID.    I don't wish to experience a severe case of COVID.   Attended a wedding on 1 Oct.   Someone attending brought an uninvited guest.   We never saw that guest but, it found quite a few of us.  Some of the attendees are still very sick.  Used that "free" government test kit to determine what the cause was, thought I had a cold.    My wife and I along with most of the folks only had mild cases.   I'm thankful I got the vaccinations I did.

My wife made the effort to see a doc and was told she had a mild case and they would treat it like a sinus infection.   The doc tested her and verified she had the Chinese bug.    I stayed home.   We both recovered at about the same rate.   Quarantine ends today.  Wink

If anyone is interested or cares, there's an interactive map in this article that'll show reported cases by county within the last two weeks.

I second Paxlovid. It will disrupt the infection cycle and cut the recovery time in half.

What is key is to start taking the medicine at very early signs of the covid. Also, to take the pills until the very end (otherwise you will only help to generate more resistant virus varieties).

As far as I know, all have recovered from the wedding exposure.   Wasn't fun but, we lived through it.

Not *all* recovered but getting there. I have to say this is the craziest bug ever. Barbara still has constant persistent dry type cough.

My daughter left Sunday to go stay at her boyfriend’s for a few days but she seemed ok.

I’m having issues with chest tightness, fatigue, shortness of breath and lower body aches and pains, my feet are killing me. Ibuprofen helps for a few hours with the aches and pains and the Mucinex Blue/White medication (I just started that yesterday) helps with some of the chest issues. Lots of clear but thick crap coming out of my chest. My appetite is down quite a bit finding I’m forcing myself to eat something. It feels like lots of little battles going on inside.

Today was a foggy day, felt like I drugged or inhaled fumes, everything was off. I don’t feel sick but I feel like I’m fighting something…like I said it’s weird but every time it’s almost the the same with both me and Barbara. She gets the head cold/flu symptoms and I get the the other stuff.
