Got a nice short ride this afternoon. Would rather have had an all day, several hundred mile ride on such a beautiful day but somebody did get all their chores done. Two doctors appointments this week put a kink in everything too. Got in some miles on those eastern Kentucky roads that some were talking about in the Inzane thread. I really only skirted the best ones due to time constraints.

We road to nowhere also. Nowhere Bar & Grill in Victoria Il. Nice lunch and then onto visit freinds. Short hundred mile ride but was most enjoyable. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm but 40 mph wind gusts.

cooldude  The rides to nowhere can be meaningful.  They don't require planning or making reservations, and they fall within my budget (gas, water and a Nature Valley granola bar).

Motorcycles have a way helping us forget our incessant worries and bringing us back to the now.  Often riding nowhere, even for a few hours, gives a renewed perspective.

I headed out on Friday for a ride with purpose.  I lost my Senior Pass sometime last spring.  So went to visit the Lava Beds NM down in CA to get a new one.  Short ride down there from here, about 45 miles.   But trip home took over 100 enjoyable miles.

Only downer was that the pass has gone up in cost, was $10 when I bought it 15 years, now $80.   It does get you into all national parks, discounts on camping in federal campgrounds, etc.  So, I guess it worth it.
