I helped a buddy get his 1999 Rebel 250 back on the road after sitting for 20 years. We went out for a ride last Sunday. . Beautiful fall day. Pulled into a micky d's to get a cup of coffee and parked right next to a new rebel. Looked a my buddy and said do you know what that is . He said no and I said it's your bike in 23 years. The Rebel had a vance and hines exhaust a solo seat and the dct trans deep burgundy color and the rest was blacked out. I was really impressed with the way it looked.Honda really knocked it out of the park with this one.To me it had a lot of design elements of a Harley sportster. Im sure they are trying to attract the younger riders. Talked to the owner a young man in his early 20's for a while and it was his first bike. The rebel has got to be one of Honda's longest successes as it was first introduced in 1985.

I have mentioned on this board a few times(and nobody really cares)that I am thinking of down sizing from my F6B. The years are adding up, the legs seem to be shorter, and the "B" hasn't lost any weight. This Rebel 1100DCT caught my attention early on but no dealers around me had one. Last week I stopped by a local Honda Powerhouse Dealer and they had 3 of them, all were DCTs. I placed my sitter on the seat and everything seemed fine until I put my feet on the pegs. Even for my short legs, the distance from seat to pegs seemed cramped and uncomfortable. Also, there is no Honda OEM center stand for this bike. Can't have a chain drive without a center stand. Nuts, now I have to do some thinking on this as I really thought this was my next bike. Maybe a thicker after market seat would help with the seat to peg distance, but maybe not. I have found that there is an after market center stand available so that problem could be solved. I haven't written the Rebel 1100 off just yet. May have to go back and do another sit and possibly a test ride.

Friend of mine's been really wanting one of those too.... Not really my cup of tea but it is interesting that Honda seems to be working to fill that niche of a smaller, but not too small bike that so many manufacturers seem to be walking away from.

https://powersports.honda.com/Motorcycle/Cruiser/rebel-1100Pretty nice looking naked cruiser. That parallel twin is a definite upgrade from the Shadow Spirit V twin I once rode. I'm not interested in it, but if I was it would get the optional fairing.

One of the 3 they had did have that fairing mounted. I thought it was pretty cheap looking and would probably opt for the windshield by Madstad Engineering.

Bergman scooter Piaggio 3 wheeler If the Burgman 650 was still being made it would definately be in my wheelhouse. I don't like buying used unless they have "real low" miles.

I don't like buying used unless they have "real low" miles. stole my 2003 burgman 650 only 8K miles from an older guy who only rode it a few times per year to door county wi and back from the janesville wi area with his wife. got it for 1995 and was worth IMO 3500 at the time a few years ago. Now has 18K miles on it and I tend to drive that more than the Valks now. Is a heavy sucker though over 600lbs. for a scooter but big enough for 2 up riding all day long. Plenty of power for even 2 up heavier riders floats along at 80 mph no problems up to a claimed 112 mph top speed but never went over 90 on it. for those that have chain drive thinking they need a center stand for chain maintenance, just buy a rear lift should work for most cycles like these under 100 bucks: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=rear+wheel+motorcycle+lift&adgrpid=1330409643027296&hvadid=83150674963530&hvbmt=bp&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=68124&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=p&hvtargid=kwd-83150966936369%3Aloc-190&hydadcr=6620_10191386&tag=mh0b-20&ref=pd_sl_68eh9jmgq2_pmy kids 1997 honda magna chain drive no center stand works fine using it to do maintenance on chain, etc. As far as honda rebel 1100 goes, it looks like a nice cruiser style bike, but would have to drive it to see if comfy on it. Another cruiser style to consider with 'just enough' power IMO is a lighter honda ctx700. Test drove one thought of buying a few years back as a commuter cycle since gets over 50 mpg , but was sorta gutless forcing me to shift before any fun could be had on it. The ergos and comfiness was pretty good on it for me though.

I'm personally considering a 2014' CB1100 this spring though a 2016' sports a dual exhaust and more hp. The PTWR is about the same as the Valk, 200 lbs. lighter, the torque curve is very flat, and I really like the nostalgic/retro look. I love the Fat Gurl but it's getting time to let her go.

The years are catching up with me as well. I love the Valk and GoldWing but I may need to down size if I want to keep riding. I looked at a Honda ST1300 this summer, but it was still a heavy bike and the seat height was higher.

I sadly let my 98 standard go .Best motorcycle I ever owned and never had any problems in 10 years. Only doing regular maintenance ,brakes, and tires. My other bike is a Suzuki Bandit 1250 . I can manage 500 lbs but 750 lbs was getting rough. I'm going to pick up a smaller dual sport just for fun. Owned a Suzuki DRZ400sm years ago and really enjoyed it. Looking at Yamaha wr250r , Honda CRL300L , Kawasaki KLX300sm plus they all get 60+ mpg which it something to think about these days.
