Was the last time I was clean shaven.  In the military , I often had to shave twice and on occasion three times a day. When I got out , I swore I would not shave again.
Shaved on the morning of the wedding day and that was it.  Different wife for the last twenty years and I still have not shaved. The children have never seen me without a beard.
Hair down to the shoulders and beard down the chest at times , but never clean shaven.  2funny

I've had chin whiskers ever since the Air Force, but I cannot tolerate a full beard.

Hot, sweaty, buggy, itchy, and always tasting my last meal.    Grin

With aging, I'm not a big fan of the bush growing in my nose, ears and shoulders either.

Other than some places I was employed I've had facial hair. We were allowed in The Navy to have beards in a combat zone. Neatly trimmed though. From Hawaii to Conus the beards were ORDERED  Removed. Conus we were Required to be clean shaven. In the summer though I keep the gourd smooth as a cue ball. RIDE SAFE.

I was sort of normal until my last patrol on the Patrick Henry (SSBN-599).  I decided to do something different.  I grew a mustache.   The date was sometime around August 1973.  It has been there ever since.

I stopped growing beards for winter in WI late 30's when I started to get GRAY patches in the midst. Now, if I grow a beard, mostly all gray and do not want to look any older than I already am.    Still have the mustache though even though 95% gray.

I always had a (regulation) mustache in the USAF.   Except I was strongly advised to not have one on my official photograph.  So off it came each time I had to get one.  Actually a week early so I didn't have a pale white stripe under my nose.   Smiley

I have never had any hint of beard or mustache - never been interested in one. At this point - either or more likely both will have white / grey in them, and as said above - I don't need to look any older than I already am, And yes I usually shave once per day to maintain that..

I stared growing a beard when I got out of college.  I grew it during the winter months, cause a worked outside in trees in cold snowy conditions.  Then it got shaved off during the summers, cause would be fighting wildfires every so often.   Lost a beard in a close call with an early wild season fire, not pleasant.

Then got old enough that didn't want to fight fires, just kept a van dike type beard year around.   Had one for over 35 years.  Keep it short, lots of gray and white in it.

Had long hair in college, long enough to make a nice ponytail.   After college started cutting it short, easier to take care of, especially when I spent most of week sleeping in a sleeping bag under the trees.   It is still short cause not much up there anymore.   There was a race at one time to see if I would turn total gray/white or lose all my hair.  Think it was a tie.

Tried a small beard once, too much trouble. My wife(RIP) and present friend both let it be known they don't want to be plowing through the brush for a treat.  Wink  I've noticed on days I don't shave, "treats" I receive...if any, are limited!

I had a beard in college, but shaved it to a mustache every summer because of work as industrial painter.

Cleaning oil based paint from your beard with toxic thinners you only do once.

We Vaselined our faces before work every day so the paint would come off with a rag (and no thinners).

Short goatee since '92.  The color has changed... to white.
