Im close to installing an I/S tank on my standard. I have a sending unit installed- what options are out there for a fuel gauge?

I’m not strictly opposed to just leaving it plugged, I’m no stranger to flipping the petcock. I’ve just never had a bike with a fuel level indicator other than sputters, and it makes me feel fancy  Grin

You might ask Tom Asay who installed an I/S sensor on a standard fuel tank. His video doesn't give too much info. https://youtu.be/GiW734PtKzI?t=121

There are a number of analog and digital fuel gauges that are designed to work with a 94 ohm sender (which the I/S sender is).

I used one from JDM (sourced from eBay) and installed it in a cast aluminum gauge cup originally sold by MC Enterprises. When the Valkyries first came to market, MC sold a digital voltmeter, oil pressure and water temp gauges for our bikes. Cyberdyne was the source for the electronics. They also offer a number of other gauges, and a bar-graph LED fuel gauge is one.

The originals were red. Hard to see at times in bright sunlight so I went with the JDM unit - which can be obtained in blue.

Motosens sold an analog fuel gauge which mounted in a chromed steel cup. I've also seen people use AutoMeter and Stewart-Warner gauges for this purpose. Assuming you can find a suitable gauge, the hardest part is coming up with a mounting arrangement.

I'll post pics of mine if anyone is interested.

I've had an Autometer unit mounted since about 2003, no issues. Keep in mind not just any meter will work with the Valk unit. The sending unit works opposite the usual automotive unit which often will show "full" when resistance is max on the sender, and "empty" when zero resistance. The Valk unit works just the opposite but there are a number of matching units available.
