Sorry to read this.  May the Lord watch over and comfort his young daughter in this trying time.

I don't know.  I have a feeling he was worse than it sounded initially.  Reading between the lines of previous posts... multi-organ failure, not regaining consciousness, etc.  It seems maybe people focused on the leg, when there were bigger issues. Cry

This is a post from "Wood Butcher" From the Souther Valkyrie Riders on MeWe one day ago.

Another update on Chip Smith who was in a bad wreck on his Valkyrie.
It’s not good y’all, they’ve decided to let him pass peacefully and unhook him.

This makes me very sad to hear, and very mad at the same time. I'd like to rant, but not at this time.
So sorry this young girl has to go through this.

Not to add insult to injury, we just had a fairly local incident. Guy was visiting family, was making a quick run to the store and was talking to his wife on his blue tooth device and then it went silent. The family passed the wreck on the way to the hospital where they knew his phone was. He didn’t make it. No details other than a motorcycle, Toyota collision at an intersection.

I wonder if I take enough precautions in traffic. I think I do, but it goes without saying, you just can’t get too comfortable.

any crash sucks but to pass before 16 year old daughter grows up fully is very tough and single parent as well, double whammy.

Every time we go up north 200 miles to see our kids which seems like monthly lately I cringe driving on the interstate.  See EVERY single time at least 3x's per trip back/forth someone tailgating either me or someone nearby and also people speeding insanely over 85mph in a 70 mph speed zone weaving in/out of traffic at that speed is insane.

Even saw this time a bicycle in a bike stand behind truck on a hitch and the front tire was off the front fork and tied up down low with a cord bouncing tire/rim off the road at 80 mph holding it in place.  I beeped the horn telling him side by side to get his attention but he thought I was pissing him off so he sped up to 90 mph vs. 78 mph side by side and zoomed in front of me and nearly clipped my front end doing so.

Well saw a cop running radar on interstate few miles up the road and how the heck he did not look and see that bicycle tire/rim bouncing up off the pavement dangling is beyond me NOT stopping him for that.

Few times ago saw on interstate going up there a semi loosing several loose railroad ties flying off leaving a trail of them a few miles long luckily I was in other lane tad behind him and not behind him or my low riding car woulda been toast for sure.  I beeped the horn beside him getting his attention and he pulled off alongside interstate while I also called 911 for any low car or any vehicle hitting one would be catastrophic at 80 mph.

Is dangerous out there keep your head on a swivel all the time and even that does no good.  I always try to avoid as much vehicles on the road as possible staying away from most, but always is not possible especially on crowded interstates.
