This might sound silly, but any chance, I know too late for this one, but for future, one of the many things we get written into the contract, and makes it even more of a PITA for our hard working staff, some verbiage about "Attendees will be provided a place to drink beverages of their own, smoke cigars/cigarettes, and as long as they're not being loud and obnoxious, will be left alone to do so"?

Just a thought...... Generally we find that place, and try to not be a nuisance but good to have that in writing too.....

I'm still hopeful I'll be able to make this one, currently not looking good but hoping things change for the better, need some family time!

Not possible for several reasons.  Most notably, the hotel could lose their liquor license.  We can usually get away with it, if ppl are cool and not obvious.

We do have koozies for sale each year.  I can order more this year to be sure we have plenty on hand.

Not possible for several reasons.  Most notably, the hotel could lose their liquor license.  We can usually get away with it, if people are cool and not obvious.

While most all areas around any hotel/motel are considered public (by law and by cops), there's a difference when the front of the hotel/motel fronts a main local street with traffic and maybe other businesses, and the more secluded side(s) and rear of the hotel/motel, and any courtyard.

I remember the last Roanoke Inzane hotel was really kind of off by itself at the end of a street (even tricky to find really), and we were not really in public view, even out front.

Given the known layout of the coming Inzane hotel (wherever that is), it wouldn't be a bad idea to sort of suggest where the better spots are for outdoor entertaining and tire kicking (and beer), days or nights.  If right out front is not a good place, that should be pointed out too.

The herd may not be completely manageable, but they can be given some good suggestions.

I'm sure that there will be somewhere that kickin' tires and swapping lies while enjoying an adult beverage will be fine.

Just not in front of the main entrance.  Evil

I am going to start my search as soon as I know ground Zero.  I'd like something closer than last time (and a bit nicer). I'll start a Camping thread over on the InZane board.

Roanoke doesn't offer much for camping.

These will be within 20 miles:

This is pretty close but I don't know if they offer tent camping:

We stayed at Dixie Caverns last time; it was OK, but nothing special.

It seems that every year the artwork is the hold up.
New artist maybe?

Although I don't have a lot of historical data to lean on, that does seem to cramp my memory muscle.

But, if staff will accept my rudimentary drawings, I'll whip something out tonight.  Wink

We said we would open in January... it's still January.

The reason we stick with Mark is not only the artwork (which is great), but also the quality of the print.  We used others a couple of times... and the printing sucked.

any infor. on hotel?

Generally staff won't publicly announce the specific hotel due to in the past people bypassing the registration process and trying to book with the hotel directly....

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were surrounded by a hostile tribe of very angry Indians.   The Lone Ranger turned to Tonto and asked him, "Tonto, what should we do?".

Tonto surveyed the situation, looked Kemosabe square in the eye and responded,
"What you mean we, Paleface?"

Oh yeah, BUMP!!!
