Fall colors are getting pretty good here in the Midlands of South Carolina.  Just a walk with the wife and our dog Zoe in the woods this afternoon.

Starting down the "lane" toward the Creek.

Headed down toward the creek.   Frequently used path.

Down by the creek

You know Bill, I walk 45-60 minutes every single (early) morning though my big neighborhood.

And the colors this year are the best ever in the 30 years I have lived here.  It's becasue of all the rain.  Ordinarily it's very dry and the color is mostly brown.  I'm even watering my two crepe myrtles and jap maple because they are bright electric orange/yellow, and blood red.  They hold their colorful leaves longer (for my viewing pleasure).   cooldude Smiley

36* this morning early, so I waited until it was 45*.

Not sure of the reason here but it might be the temperatures.  It was 56 almost all day here.

I do think moisture makes a difference.  Its nice to have the colors.
