This would be for the car mostly but could probably adapt one for the trike. I kinda like the one in the link, seems to have everything covered. I'm open to suggestions.

Wish I had a recommendation. I wish I had one on every vehicle I own with the craziness I see almost daily.

I really feel the need for one up here in the Green Bay area. I'm well aware of the drivers in Florida, having lived there 53 years. But up here, the big thing is tailgating. It's ridiculous...at 70-75 on the interstate I constantly have some fool literally withing a car's length of my rear bumper. It's even on side streets or open country roads, it's always my cue to start slowing down...waaay down. On the city streets, I'll start to slow down for a stop sign/light and dumbass is on my bumper. So, I shift down one gear without showing any brake lights. As I get closer, down another gear, then finally into 1st which really throws out the anchor and gets their attention. One guy got out and came up to tell me my brake lights don't work, so I showed him they're fine...then told him I'm just trying to get you off my tail. He got a little PO'd but stayed back the rest of the time he was behind me.

I've had an Innovv K2 on my F6B for a few years and 26,000 miles now and it's been trouble free. The cams have been unaffected by rain and carwash wands. It has both front and rear facing, wide angle cams, both of which work very well. With a big SD card it holds days of video before it starts over writing the older videos. The sound is horrible however and to control the settings easily, you need a smart phone.

It paid for its self on Labor Day when a lady pulled out of a hidden drive a short distance in front of me.

I was knocked out for a short time and the bike received just under $7000 in damages. Thankfully my front cam clearly showed her pulling out in front of me. Since it's still being argued by insurance that's all I'll say about the actual accident.

I will say my helmet was undamaged since it was strapped over my backrest.   Grin

I couldn't shave my head for a while due to it's contact with the pavement, but it looks about the same now as it did before. Guess I really couldn't expect an improvement in that department.

Although I still have a headache, a shoulder that pops constantly and a black toe I only missed 2 days of work and have been riding to work again for weeks.

The camera system was a game changer and I'd advise every rider to have one.

I am sort of interested in this thread.  I have thought about a "dash cam" but, since I have the Contour cameras I sort of have an option, although I rarely have the Contour camera on all the time.

So, I did a search and it appears that the INNOVV K2 is not available (at least where I looked).

Looks like the next choice is the INNOVV K5.    Grin Grin Grin

The reason for the laughs is that, the K5, on the Amazon website that came up in my search was somewhere between $72,000 and $45,000.

Now I do find that hard to believe but something strange is happening.....  Or so it seems.

OHHHH I found out why.  I have no idea how the search thing was working but the prices above are from
https://www.amazon.in/s?k=innovv+k5&i=electronics&crid=VWJSQNHMHV8S&sprefix=%2Celectronics%2C210&ref=nb_sb_ss_recent_1_0_recent

Good thing I did not try to sign in to the *.in address.  Appears to be an Amazon website in India.

In the "real" Amazon website (for me anyway) the camera is about $450

John,  be careful doing that downshifting thing with no brake lights slowing down to stop signs.  Not be surprised with the road rage here in WI someone comes out after you at the stoplight and will do more than just say nasty words to you.

I have done it a few times myself but the car downshifting does not slow down nearly as quickly as my V8 truck does.   Yesterday on interstate doing 78 mph at night in left/fast lane passing most all slower traffic on the right was an idiot on my _SS only 1 car distance behind for miles.  I am NOT getting over into the right lane if vehicles are in right lane say spaced out 30-40 yards if I am still passing/going by them in the faster left lane.  The idiots behind me can _iss my _ss.    I finally got over after 4 to 5 miles once there was a good 100 yard distance between cars in the right lane.  I HATE traffic more than most and fighting traffic in the slower/right lane trying to stay a reasonable following distance away from both front and rear vehicle for me frustrates me as well as being tailgated by idiots.

You might take a look at https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/ to possibly see reviews.  I can tell you most likely anything in the $100 price range isn't going to be that great.  There are exceptions of course.  I have a couple lower end dash cams in my truck front & rear facing and they do fine for my needs.  But you could probably get some good suggestions from those more knowledgeable if you made a post on the linked forum stating your intended use, requirements and likes.

I did, just because I could, set up an account on DashCamTalk.  There is one article related to this thread but there was only one response and no response to the OPs question about the response.

Just saying.

I have a Garmin Mini 2 in my Tacoma.  Very minimal, no screen, no gps.  Records continuously, can do basic voice commands (take a pic, save video).  Also saves 15 sec before and after incident or if the rear button is pushed.   Very small.  1080p video.
