On a recent excursion to one of my local rivers to fish the tail end of the annual Coho salmon run, I was confronted by some resident wildlife. The rather aggressive male was intent on making an easy lunch of the salmon I had worked hard all morning to catch, and even though I was out-muscled by a significant margin by the beast (and scared as sh**), I wasn't about to let him get away with it. I took my lumps, but a combination of some long forgotten skills from my younger days that I haven't used for decades but that somehow instinctively came back to me in a moment of need..and a little of the guile that mature folks like me pick up along the way, I was ultimately successful in defending my catch. The Mrs, who for 41 years has proven time and time again to be more sensible than the man she married, once again proved this fact by hightailing it to hide behind a small stand of trees nearby, where she was able to take this video of the confrontation between man and beast
