I hang out with Frank Smoak sometimes when I take my Mini Cooper back to the Charleston dealer
for its checkups... he kind of slinks down in the seat, wishing he had a disguise... said something
about having a reputation to uphold...

Joe, excellent choice in buying a Nissan (I may be a tad biased).  By the way, if that is a girls car...there sure are a lot of big grizzly guys I work with that drive a girl's car!

Very nice! I too just got a new toy very similar... 1st NEW car I've ever bought, it was a left over 2008 (I seem to do the leftovers, my Valk was a brand new 1998 that I bought in December of 2000) Nissan Altima, and it was a rare one that was HARD to find! The V6 Altima with the 6 speed manual... Getting hard to find manuals these days, that concerns me... (The Altima and the Murano share a drivetrain from my understanding...)

The manuals are getting harder and harder to come by.  Everyone (but us enthusiasts) want automatics.  Unfortunately, I was not able to get my Murano in a manual.  It only comes with Nissan's CVT transmission.  My impressions of the vehicle in the first 55 miles...damn that transmission is smooth!!!  And I am getting 23mpg during that 55 miles.  SWEET!!!

Now, I need to start accessorizing it to my liking.  Cheesy  I need a receiver hitch and vent shades to start with.  Cheesy  DAMN...this thing is going to dig into the chrome/riding budget...Sad

I see a MR2 lurking there in the background. They are small but sexy. My son had a 91 and a 93 Turbo.

Good eyes! Yup, that's been my car for the last 13 years... And before that, I had an '88 MR2...

That one in the garage is a 1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo that's had a bit of tweaking done by ATS Racing in Denton, TX. It's got just a hair under 200,000 miles on it. Sadly, I just can't justify keeping him, so he's gonna get cleaned up and we'll try to find a new home for him. Still love that car, but alas, life happens, my toys are 2 wheeled now. (Forgive the PVC sticking out the roof, I took the pics to prove to a friend that I really didn't need a truck... Also, apologies for detouring the thread...) Not too bad looking for a 17 year old car, if I do say so myself...

Yeah...but you don't when you are into the throttle like I have been on the Nissan.   Evil  I am down to 21.4 mpg after 140 miles.  Still VERY pleased with it.  Cheesy

Same thing with the V6 Altima... if I drive nice (75-80) on the freeway, I get over 30...

Overall though, I've been getting 21-23...

But... I've been unleashing the 270 HP of the engine quite a bit... LOVING it... Not a whole lotta family 4 door sedans that can burn out quite easily in the first 3 gears, chirp the tires in 4th...

Yup... Same here... Been driving the 2 door (2 seat) lil' sports car for just under 20 years... Been married 10 of 'em, and a father 7 of 'em, I've gotten away with it long enough, needed something the whole family could comfortably get in, and we're not small people, so it needed a real back seat and 4 doors...

Besides... When you combine the 270 HP of the Altima, the 275 of the MR2 (Dyno'ed after mods), the ~100 of the Valkyrie and the 125 HP of the ST1300, the ole' garage has more than it's share of HP... Wink
