it is only 2 weeks since my last nice ride

Went to start the bike, nothing whatsoever

hooked up the charger, totally dead  Again?

If there is a short in the radio circuit could that draw the amps out of the battery

If so I will just take the control box out as I have Sena and dont use either cb or radio presently

Wish there was someone close enough to troubleshoot this over the weekend

Dis-connect the battery negative and get the charger on it. After it (?) takes the charge , touch the ground cable to the post with all electric off and key out. Look at spark color. Pull radio fuse and recheck for spark.  Simple version.

Had a GW I recently worked on and the stereo amp drained it dead. I tried to find the power disconnect but to no avail thus I unhooked the cables on the new battery and put a .75 maintainer on for the winter. Going to check on it today as the new battery is a wet cell variant. I guess you could install a HD switch on one of the battery cable junctions.

Disconnect and charge you battery.
Then connect a volt meter set to test for voltage between the ground connection and battery.
Then you will know just how much voltage is being used.
Do not attempt to start the bike while connected this way as most volt meters cannot handle more that a 10 amp power flow and trhe starter will blow the internal volt meter fuse or fry the volt meter.

Any significant voltage draw is to much, anything over about .03 volts, zero is best.

so weird

both the bmw smart charger and my expensive smart charger both indicate not connected properly

But positive and negative both correct as I have been charging batteries for decades

I tried my full size charger  (battery charger ) and all it says is connect battery even though the connections are firmly in place

Another yuasa battery dead in weeks   crap

any suggestions for a battery that will actually last a few months?

This weekend I will charge a battery I took off the r1150 and see if I can trace a drain

Not riding is not optimal, almost ready to say f it and get a gold wing used

OSS, best rated car battery is Walmart EverStart. I've used their bike batteries with about equal service as most Yuasa.

Here is a link to FortNine video on bike batteries: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ywopGAXP-I
