Dave Hay

I wanted to introduce myself.

I joined the Valkyrie family two years in September 2020, buying a '99 Tourer from an owner in Wenden.  I had been looking for some time and drove out there and bought it.

I've been a Goldwing rider for some time, having first seen a Valkyrie at the Honda shop in Durango several years ago while have a flat tire replaced.  I had honestly never seen one before, but was impressed.  Since I bought my '99, I've slowly spent time getting it dialed in to my liking.

In October 2021 I rode my Valk to the "Valkries in the Ozarks" event in Harrison, AR, taking as much of Route 66 as I could to Joplin, MO, before heading south to Arkansas.  On the way home I found out how much strong winds can mess with your fuel economy on these bikes, but fortunately I never ran out.

I guess the old saying, "You cant have just one", is true for me.  I bought another '99 Tourer a few months ago.  My wife has reminded me several times that I can only ride one at a time and it's crazy to own 3 motorcycles.  I just smile.  She says that she "doesn't get it" when it comes to riding a motorcycle.

We live in Overgaard, having retired here over 10 years ago after spending our working years in the Phoenix area, struggling for the legal tender.

I participate in the "Ride to Eat", Tour of Honor, and Team Strange rallies each year.  I'm also an Iron Butt Association member.

I'm looking forward to meeting other Valkyrie owners and participating in events.

Have bike(s), will travel.

Howdy from the Texas Chapter!

Give me a shout if you're ever in the Central Texas area...

Ride safe!

A radio callsign, from back in the days when I used to struggle for the legal tender.
